    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

So far have elevated morning BG avg 200 last couple months. Increased metoformin 500 xl to 1000 xl. Not dawn phenomenom since don't take insulin. Cortisol? high work stress. Elevated liver enzymes. Recent adhd diagonosis started concerta, went off for two weeks, didn't help.

Yes, stress definitely can raise blood glucose readings.

Dawn phenomenon has been seen in diabetics who do not take insulin as well. I have experienced this while on oral medications. Solutions usually include a light properly balance snack right before bed.

You need to make sure you are using methods other than medication to manage your diabetes. Physical activity and proper nutrition are essential. Have you seen a nutritionist, dietician or Certified Diabetic Educator? That would help you understand all you should be doing.

As far as the medication, you really need to discuss these reading with your doctor. An adjustment may be in order.
