does stress raise morning sugars

So far have elevated morning BG avg 200 last couple months. Increased metoformin 500 xl to 1000 xl. Not dawn phenomenom since don't take insulin. Cortisol? high work stress. Elevated liver enzymes. Recent adhd diagonosis started concerta, went off for two weeks, didn't help.

Yes, stress definitely can raise blood glucose readings.

Dawn phenomenon has been seen in diabetics who do not take insulin as well. I have experienced this while on oral medications. Solutions usually include a light properly balance snack right before bed.

You need to make sure you are using methods other than medication to manage your diabetes. Physical activity and proper nutrition are essential. Have you seen a nutritionist, dietician or Certified Diabetic Educator? That would help you understand all you should be doing.

As far as the medication, you really need to discuss these reading with your doctor. An adjustment may be in order.
