Yes. Stress on our bodies, both physical like pain and emotional can raise blood glucose readings. Make sure you are following a healthy diet, getting enough activity, and discussing this with your doctor.

One other thing that Dave did not mention. Get a good nights sleep everynight. Don't cut sleep push for at least 7 preferably 8 hrs a night. This is needed for body rebuild.

I totally agree, betatoo. If sleep issues are a problem, such as chronic insomnia or sleep apnea, then a sleep specialist should be consulted.
