    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? The best way to quickly reduce sugar readings would probably be exercise, drinking lots of water and taking your medication.

You need to discuss this with your doctor asap and change your lifestyle. Your diabetes is not in control.

Willfer, water will help bring down your sugar level somewhat. I know it's scary when your sugar goes higher than the norm.

A reading of 232 is not considered an emergency, but it is high. I had a sugar reading of 435 two hours after breakfast one time. No telling what it was an hour earlier. They told me to dring water, but it only came down into the 300's. I had to go to the ER for insulin because all the water I was drinking wasn't helping quick enough. There is really nothing that will get your sugar down immediately except for a rapid-acting insulin.
