norm for glucose reading 2 hours after eating
    An_253966 posted:
what is the norm reading on a measuring after 2 hours of eating?
    An_251837 responded:
Blood glucose readings should ideally be 80-140 2 hours after a meal. For diabetics, some say under 180 is acceptable.
    brinerlady responded:
You and I are quite similarly taught: first thing in the morning after a nights sleep and no eating, 80 - 130. Two hours after eating: Less than 180.
    auriga1 responded:
My doctor told me your BS reading should be 140 or less. You should take your reading 2 hours after the first bite of your meal.
    liladieni responded:
Hmm, I am on a much tighter range for morning fasting blood sugar...between 100 and 110. 2 hours after meals, my doctor wants me no higher than 140.
    debs_bears responded:
From reading the answers we might all be taught differently. I was told that the morning fasting 8 to 10 hours of no eating should be 70 - 100.

2 hours after eating for a diabetic type 2 should be less than 140.

You might want to see your doctor or diabetic educator for the correct info for you.

My numbers were set up for me by my doctor and dietitian. Current ranges for me are fasting 80 -90, 2 hours after eating ranges from 80 - 100. So you see we are not all a like.
