    Diabetic with cold?
    An_254551 posted:
Hi, my boyfriend and I got sick recently, and it's mainly congestion/cough. He's wary about what medicines to take, and I got him some sugar-free cough drops. However, he's started to have bad water retention (swelling in his feet) and the cold (we think) doesn't seem to be getting much better. Is there anything I can do to ease his symptoms at home?
    An_251837 responded:

It is difficult to find OTC solutions when other chronic health conditions exist. You may consider going to a pharmacy and speaking with a pharmacist. They should be able to suggest some products that could help the cold symptoms but not aggravate the diabetes.

I'm sure you know to keep an eye on that water retention/swelling. If it does not improve soon you should probably call his doctor or go to an urgent care facility.
