    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

I HAD A SEVERE GERD REACTION IN THAT I EXPERIENCED A SEVERE BURNING SENSATION IN MY CHEST AND VOMITING. I AM ALSO DIABETIC AND I BLACKED OUT BRIEFLY AT THE SAME TIME. I WENT TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM AND WAS GIVEN A CAT SCAN AND AN EKG; THE RESULTS WERE NORMAL. MY BLOOD SUGAR LEVEL TWO HOURS AFTER THE INCIDENT WAS VVERY HIGH FOR ME - 166. COULD MY BLOOD SUGAR HAVE CAUSED ME TO BLACK OUT?

    Hello.

It would be really difficult if not impossible for any of us to speculate what caused you to black out. Everyone is unique and what may cause severe symptoms in one person may not affect another at all.

I am presuming you are medication for both the Diabetes and GERD. You need to pursue all this with your primary doctor.

I pray you can get answers, proper treatment and relief soon.
