I bet most of you have not heard about taking CINNAMON to lower your sugar in your blood, i am a diabetic of almost two years and i took my self off of the metformin because of the side affects i no longer have sweats and diabetic shakes because the cinnamon works faster and will not take me to low, i need to loose more weight and my doctor says we will win this battle, one third of a T-spoon of cinnamon after every meal and it should help your sugar stay low, when i watch my carb intake i stay between 80s and 90s so watch those carbs, and eat more fruit and veggies, and watch the meat intake, instead take a protein power and you will feel good and look good, Oh Yeah

The subject of cinnamon as an alternative to lowering blood glucose has been debated on this board for years. Some find it helpful, others not so much. And the scientific evidence is divided on the efficacy of cinnamon as a glucose lowering agent.

I am glad for you that it works.

As always, those considering alternative treatments should consult with their own personal physician before discontinuing their medications and starting another method.

Seems like to me you are doing more than just the Cinnamon to lower your BG. One you are-watching your carbs-big time. Two you are losing weight. Many sources say that just 10lb of weight loss is enough to turn around BG. Now if the Cinnamon is adding a % of BG lowering power to this mix-great. I take Cinnamon also, and use it with nuts, in water with vinegar, As caplets, and in cooking. I think it helps, but not really sure. As my numbers are good, I won't change anything.

So in the long run, keep up the good work!

I've used cinnamon for a couple of years. When I added chromium it seemed to make a significant difference in my numbers. I buy cinnamon with chromium at my grocery store in capsule form. As David said, studies have been done on this and it works for some folks and makes no difference to others. Like everything else, it has to be in conjunction with a healthy diet and some form of exercise.
