    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

    Yours in health,

If you are going to eat a mcdougall diet I see no reason why a Fuhrman diet would not be as healthful. All personalities aside, and eschewing the argument about the ethics involved, the question is--will eating plants and eschewing meat, fat, dairy etc bring about health or not? Fuhrman's diet is so similar to Pritikin, Esselstyn, McDougall etc. (McDougall even allows nuts on special occasions and Fuhrman says if you are not at your normal weight, limit nuts to no more than an ounce per day) ;that one can overlook the questionable reports of success and call your diet McDougall or Esselstyn. I personally think that people fail on the Fuhrman high vegetable, lower starch plan because it is expensive and requires a lot of chopping and blending and shopping and higher volume eating because of the absence of starches
and not because of the diet itself.
