vegan diet - "benefits cancelled by flaws"
    jc3737 responded:
He is however very much in favor of a McDougall diet....just not any vegan diet which very often makes up the calories in the form of processed foods and sugar.
    jc3737 replied to jc3737's response:
Also the benefits are not cancelled if adequate vit B 12 is taken.
    heretk replied to jc3737's response:
May be may be not. The data Greger talks about, on hip replacement (osteoporosis) and degenerative brain diseases are not in vegan's favor, as it stands right now. Whether that would improve under more B12 supplementation remains a speculative hypothesis and is unproven.
    jc3737 replied to heretk's response:
Vegan is not the same thing as Fuhrman or McDougall vegan and its important to remember that. The data MAY not be in the vegans favor but that is not relevent to the McDougall diet.As I said Dr Greger is very much in favor of the McDougall diet.
