Forget Monday as a day of "starting over". Tomorrow is March 1st!

Let's share some goals we can set and work on over the 31 days. I'm going to eat more veggies and work on my stress level.

Who is next?

Yes I hope everyone joins us! Maybe we should ask how are you going to reward yourself for doing good this month??
I am going to go out to a nice dinner with my hubby.

Hi Girls!

I started my quest for health (stealing from Judy!!) on Jan 1st. I am not a typical New Year's resolution-er, but my husband really wanted to start making some changes, so we decided to go for it!

I set short and long term goals at that time. My first goal was to lose 10 pounds from Jan 1- Jan 30, which I nearly achieved. Losing 9.6 pounds in Jan. (I always have a large loss the first month of a weight loss attempt.) My next goal was to lose 5 pounds from Feb 1-Feb 29. I weighed today and had exceeded that goal by 1.4 pounds. At this mornings official weigh in I had lost a total of 16 pounds. This number also happens to represent a full 10% loss of my total weight.

I have a trip planned to go to Costa Rica with a friend at the end of June. My hope is to be swim suit ready by that time!

My March short term goals are to be under 140 pounds by St. Patrick's Day. (I picked that day, because it is mid month.) I will need to lose more than 3 pounds to meet this objective. It is an aggressive goal for me, since historically after the first month my loss slows to about 1 pound a week. So I will need to lose about 1.5 pounds per week to meet my goal.

I would like to lose a total of 6 pounds in the month of March. This would put me within 7 or 8 pounds of my final goals. Those last 8 pounds will be the most difficult based on history. Will likely take me a couple of months to get there.

In order to reach these goals I want to continue eating a balanced diet of lean protein, whole grains (in moderation), fruits, veggies and low fat dairy. Plus I want to add more strength training to the cardio that I do now.

Best of luck to everyone!

My goal is to eat on a completely raw diet for the whole month. This means a diet consisting almost completely of fruits, vegetables, nuts and grains. I will also try to drink a few cups of herbal tea a day, including 10, 8 oz. glasses of water. I want to cleanse my body of impurities and detoxify as natural as possible.
