I just found out a few days ago, that I have diabetes2.......I eat very healthy, salads, lots of vegetables, fruits, nuts, beans,,,,,,and for the last 6 weeks, I;ve eliminated bread, potatoes, rice, pasta, pizza and pretzels.......until I get to my goal weight..... I was eating only brown rice and whole wheat pasta., but just too much of it......
Can I eat dark chocolate? Can I have popcorn as a snack? where can I find information about Diabetes,,,,the basics about food, what to eat and when to eat.

Thanks for posting those sites, I will check it out......I have eaten very healthy my whole life, and been slender my whole life, it's just the past 3or4 years I've put on about 25 pounds,,,,,,,my father and all his siblings had diabetes,,,,,so I just inherited it....I am not fat, just a few extra pounds, and have always eaten very healthy. Thanks................
