    liquid protein diet

    I have heard advertisements on a liquid protein diet that they are pouting as a no-diet-diet because all you have to do is drink a tbls of liquid protein every night before you go to bed. Protein makes lean muscle, muscle eats fat is what they are saying. I think that's true and a little extra protein can't hurt right? What are your thoughts and have you talked to anyone that this has helped a little? I started eating high protein meal bars for breakfast (most days) and that seems to have helped a little.

    Most Americans already consume enough protein-about 46 grams for women is the recommendation. (see the article linked below) That said, additional protein does help keep hunger at bay for some people.

    How much weight do you plan to lose?

    Protein doesn't "make" muscle on it's own, but it does help repair and rebuild muscle after a workout. So you still would have to do strength training because taking liquid protein alone is not going to build muscle.

    I'm trying to loose 20 more lbs, have always been an apple shape (or as I say - round is a shape). It's virtually impossible to trim down just in the stomach so I wanted to know what others thought and if anyone has used protein. This "no diet -diet" is only suggesting 5 grams right before bed. I'm watching what I eat (the protein bars are partially because they are easy to eat on the way to work or at my desk) and the higher protein seems to 'stick with me' better than almost everything. I don't want to go on a high protein diet, I've always thought that was for people who wanted to add big muscles and / or weight lifted. THANKS! I've already lost 10 lbs.

    It definitely won't give you big muscles. Those big muscles take a lot of work that most of us really won't ever do--hours and hours and hours at the gym every day.

    I have also heard about the "no diet" diet that is a liquid protein diet. Do you know if it is safe to try to add some extra protein in my diet?

    I ordered a couple of bottles of the nodiet liquid protein and have been using it in conjunction with weight watchers. I tried it for two weeks before using ww, and got no change in weight, no fantastic weight loss, a very small change in inches. This past week I started the weight watchers, tracked and paid a lot of attention to my eating, exercised more than I normally do plus used the nodiet. I've lost 2 lbs this week. So, not really saying its due to nodiet. However, I have noticed a huge difference in how my joints feel, my hair, my nails. I'm thinking it is an ingredient in the nodiet (it contains Aloe) that is making that difference. Weird, but nice. I'm going to continue to use up my two bottles and see what happens while continuing on with my weight watchers plan. I'll try to get back here to post results. Hope this helps.
