Have you tried Jenny Craig? Would you?


p.s. My mom was a Weight Watchers gal - she passed away in September and my brother and I found her dusty food scale in the back of the pantry! It must have been 25 years old and it still worked...

I would hate something like the Jenny Craig diet. It doesn't allow you freedom to choose your own meals - what if I felt like pork, broccoli and red capsicum for dinner, but Jenny has decided tonight is chicken fettucini?

Besides, I'm too fussy for such a diet where someone else determines my food. I don't like pasta, for example, but I like things like miso soup, Alfalfa sprouts , Japanese mushrooms, etc. which are unlikely to feature in her menus. My standard breakfast is boiled egg-whites with vegetables, condiments and herbs, but she will probably want me to eat cereal.

Plus, it must be quite expensive. One can cook your own food (and have the pleasure of browsing the market for fresh stuff) for far less.

I agree with everything Tomato said. Plus, what happens when you achieve your goal weight?

What habits have you truly changed?

Plus, those meals are still pre-packaged. I prefer to eat a little more wholesomely than to do the whole carton-to-microwave-to-table type of cooking.

I think it's great for some, but the pre-packaged, pre-portioned, deliver it to my door is not something I feel would be a lifestyle change for me.

There was a bomb scare in Los Angeles last week - the "suspicious package" turned out to be a meal delivery service for one of the office workers on a diet!

It snarled traffic for hours!
