What is the recommended distance to walk and how many days a week should you walk to get the most out of it?

Check out one of my fav sites: www.about.com and check out walking and/or exercise / fitness. They give free programs, articles, etc. that I'm using now and I've lost 30 lbs last year. Also if you just google "walking, fitness, exercise, etc. you'll find other great free sites. Best advice: just do it ! I ride my bicycle almost daily, and walk several times a week, and my goal is to build up the time I spend exercising this year. Good luck!
