I was struggling just like you up until a month ago when my doctor told me to read the book Wheatbelly: Lose the Wheat, Lose the Weight by Dr. William Davis. I did and was mortified by what I read. So much so that it has actually been somewhat easy to quit the wheat (not totally convenient, but doable). Wheat is in everything from ketchup and soy sauce to some spice mixes. You eat a lot more wheat than you realize and unfortunately it's not the whole grains of 1950 anymore. It has been genetically modified so much starting back in the 50s that is actually as much a culprit as sugar when it comes to causing weight gain. As well, it directly correlates with the increase in almost every disease process that plagues our population today. The book is inexpensive and totally worth your time. Try it for 1 month and I have no doubts you will be able to see the results for yourself. If you do, it will require a total commitment -- not a part-time commitment -- but totally worth it,
