    Hey, I'm new and just thought I would introduce myself. I just started a diet yesterday and would like to see what kind of support I could get hear on the ol' Webmd. I'm a 20 year old college student weighing in at an impressive 260 pounds at 6 feet tall. I've always been overweight and have even had some success in weight loss in the past, but this one I can feel it will be the diet where I finally get it all off. Optimism breeds results!     Welcome. It's great that you are taking responsibility at such a young age(well young compared to me). I would recommend using the 50-100 lb weight loss forum, this one never seem to be very responsive. Do you have a plan of action to lose weight? Remember it's not just about losing the weight it is about a life long journey of health.

    Hello Paulywog and welcome!

    You're smart to look for as much support as possible, and to get working on this now. I'd encourage you to check on campus with the student health center and find out if they have some resources for you, too. Even if they don't have them on campus, they may offer support groups, programs, or counseling at a free or discounted rate that could help. Here's a link to our Newcomer Tips , too.

    Shire_elf is right about the 50-100lbs Community . This one has become very quiet in the last few months, so feel free to post at either one or both.
