I am new to community and really need some good tips! I have alot of weight to lose and fight pain on a daily basis. I know exercise is good but hard to make yourself do it when it hurts. Any suggestions? All are welcomed.

Hi. Can you be more specific about your pain? Is there anything that either makes the pain flare up or gives you any relief? I would suggest low impact to start. Walk around the block... I understand they recommend water aerobics for people with bad arthritis. That could be an option if you have access to a pool.

Otherwise, I don't know how you would feel about it, but this board is pretty quiet most of the time. Quite a few people that have started here have joined the 50 - 100 board. There are some great people on that board and they talk quite a bit.

Yes, Becca, I agree with Sheryl, come join us on the 50 -100 lb. board. Just reading about others' struggles and victories there will help you.

My belief is that while exercise is essential, the food control is the key to losing weight. I use the tracker on fitday.com to track what I'm consuming. It keeps me honest and mindful of nutrition and calories.

Welcome here or on the more active board and good luck!
