    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

    Can't get going today...

Today I am just so beat and worn out that I can't even make myself work-out. I tried for over an hour to at least half way get soemthing done but I couldn't even make myself do that. I feel really bad about it too because I won't really have a chance to work-out tomorrow at all. My next available day to work out will be Friday; maybe I can pick it back up again then. I did get my walk in last ngiht during lunch at work and did work out the last 2 days but just can't going today.

I have days like that, too, and I think most people do.

Sometimes you just need a short break, no harm done. Neither your fitness nor your muscles will decrease in a short period.

Just remember that you cannot lose your fitness in one day. You cannot get fat in one day, but when you are not buring calories working out, you must watch your caloric intake. You have to give your body time to recover from working out, so don't be hard on yourself for taking a rest day. At some point, there is a risk of over-doing it, which could then cause and injury that would set you back further. Keep up your motivation to keep working out. It has helped me to get into a routine for working out, so that I have consistancy. Try setting a goal for the amount of time you workout rather than the number of days per week. Remember that everyone is different and your personal motivation needs may be different.

    HTH,

Hi I find this happens sometimes and I have been trainiing for over fifteen years, your body is telling you to rest, do what you
can and if you cannot do cardio switch to some weights you may find you are capable of doing that instead.
Don't feel guilty. Its the effort you put into the time not the time you put in.
    Hope this helps

Try to schedule 10 minutes...When the day gets on top of me and I am just too tired.....I tell myself I will go to the gym for 10 mins and then go home and rest. Generally once I am there I stay....it's just getting there.

That's a good idea, Workinggirl - I sometimes do it with housecleaning : I say to myself I'll just do the bathroom, and often I end up cleaning a few more rooms once I get the momentum!

When I can't get motivated to do anything I listen to some music that has a good beat, I start dancing around and soon enough I've got some energy.
