This is my first time posting on this site. Due to an undiagnosed thyroid condition I gained about 40 lbs. I am now faced with trying to lose it. My biggest obstacle is me. Most of my life I could eat anything and not gain a pound. Now I gain weight without eating. I understand about sensible eating, portion control, but can't find the motivation to make small, incremental sustained changes. Any thoughts?

Let me ask a stupid question...are you on medication for your thyroid problem? Getting on medication is the first step to reversing your weight gain. This is something that you are going to be dealing with all your life, but getting healthy again will help with your thyroid problem, it won't fix it but it will help you control it and be on less medication. You can do this, but only if you want it. Find your motivation, only you can say what it is, but once you find it you will succeed.
