    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

My weight is out of control. I'll admit it, and I'm not doing much to help. However, recently I've tried to eat better, but food in my house always tempts me. My parents, dad in particular, are cruel about my weight. They expect me to do exercises that are extreme even for accomplished athletes, not me. My joints ache, and my back hurts, but my dad still makes me do more. How can I find a way to lose weight and stick with it, and not get on my dad's bad side? For years now I've been trying, but I just can't seem to stick with anything.

    1. Get it out of your head that diet and exercise, only, affect weight.2. Study how the human body works, specifically, how lifestyle choices affect weight gain
    3. Get a job
    4. Move out of the house.
    5. Establish a healthier lifestyle (with less stress) that will move your body towards a balanced state.

The reality is, you've witnessed the growth of your body. It's not like you had no control or say in the matter. You're right...emotional & physical stress, plus, over-fixation on your weight does not help matters. Then, again, your dad doesn't load the fork that goes into your mouth, nor, does he encourage you to go sleep deprived (the very worst thing you can do to the human body, imo). Good luck on reaching your goals.
