MEMORIAL DAY CHALLENGE WEEK #2

TODAY is May 7th, going on WEEK #2.

I read in the week #2 post how some of us are bouncing up and down, but the important thing is that we are giving it our best to make it change.

I stayed the same at my end of the week weight...but when I saw those mid-week weigh-ins down a bit, that got me working harder.

I like how HELENE bumped up her gardening to burn calories; DEBBIE was considering more housework LOL; and MARYBETH was down on her weigh in WTG!!!!

Let's make it a good week!!!

Barb

BTW, I am down 2 lbs. as of this am weigh in. I did focus on lean protein and veggies. I really did not want to snack like I usually do. Now can I keep this up? I know those little slips were getting my weight up and this CHALLENGE has helped me focus on getting a tighter handle on this healthy LIFESTYLE.

That's great Barb! And no, the housecleaning was sort of a lick and a promise. Have bridge here Thurs. night - got to really kick it one of these afternoons. Busy couple of weeks coming up. Am headed to Alabama this weekend to see the grandsons play soccer. Their high school team made it to their state semi-finals. I'm so proud and excited. Also, cousins on my father's side that i don't even remember are coming from NY to visit next week - that's exciting too. Have to keep this challenge on my mind so that I don't overdo with all this "visiting." Go team!

Busy bee, DEBBIE.

Just keep hydrated and pack some "go to" healthy snacks.

Eat those veggies! Everything goes better with them.

Yes, I had a knee appt. today and was told by this dr. "keep the weight down". So this is what we got to do to preserve our knees.

Have a great week!

Barb .. my knees took a beating with those extra 30 lbs I had on them .. they are starting to feel better but I know it will take more exercise and more weight gone to bring them back to a less achey feeling .. age I know will keep them achey but that is par for the course.

I am doing well so far on my challenge and working hard for week #2 to go down more ... maybe I need to leave the snacks alone like you! (even though they are fruits)

Checking in with the end of WEEK #2 of Memorial Day CHALLENGE.

My weigh ins were a bit yo-yo, but that is how I gain or lose. I had company this week, so eating was a bit skewed.

I have been down 2 lbs. for two weigh ins, now. This really makes me want to stay with it. ("It" being focusing on healthy living.)

Sharing a veggie "concoction". Corn cut off the cob, red onion, grape tomatoes, bite size steamed asparagus, black olives, avocado and a drizzle of Greek dressing. This was very good use of veggies that were accumulating.

Let's stay focused with our plans!

Norma,

WTG on getting rid of 30!!!

I'm glad you are looking at your challenge as a way to review your plan.

I know your intro blog mentioned that you had a yo-yo weight past. Me too. That really scares me when I see those "few" pounds coming back. I am really working to learn to take them seriously. Not like I did in the past....oh, only a few, that is the kind of attitude that gets us back to square one.

You just stay with your plan and keep up the good work!!!

Debbie,

How's that back? Hope all is better.

BTW, I can really appreciate the poodle breed for the non-shedding. I had a small dog sit on my lap and when it left, I had a million dog hairs!

Have a great Saturday!

Hi all, I've been out of pocket for the last couple of days. Got to spend some time with my son and family and see my grandsons play in the AL state high school soccer championships. They lost in the finals, but I am sooooo proud of those boys!

I did pretty well eating as we all know it's hard when you eat out every meal. I made mostly good choices although had my favorite Dreamland ribs just didn't eat the sides. Got some exercise as we walked quite a bit and except for when I took my luggage in and out if the hotel, I used the stairs (only on the 3rd floor). I used to look at trips, even short ones, as a time to eat everything and anything. Proud to be aware of choices that I make now.

Barb, I had to leave Abner at the boarder's. He was so happy to see me when I got back. And yes, I love the fact that the breed doesn't shed. I had a wonderful German Shepherd, but he shed more than any dog I've ever had. Yuck!

Barb, the back is hanging in there, although I've found that driving for a couple of hours straight doesn't help. Thanks for asking. I'll miss you when you are gone. Have a great trip.

Same to you, Judy. Safe travels. Enjoy!
