Thanks Helene. Some great recipes on there. I think I'll try the frozen fruit cups and the black bean and rice thing that I don't remember the name of.

Hi Debbie,
I just logged in all my food intake it's great, it generates all sorts of reports on nutrients, ..... very detailed in over and under consumption by categories.
The best is there is no adds and so easy to use.

Hi Helene this is a great link It is true we can eat healthy for less if we want to...our choices can be limited but it is possable .
I think when I was actively putting on pounds I spent at least 50 dollars a week on icecream and the ingredients for cake and pastries etc ... that is in addition to the meats and vegies fruits etc / My obesity came from too much food I ate the healthy stuff and too much in the way of treats limiting the treats and portion controling the healthy stuff is what worked for me .
and I believe it is cheaper than what I was doing before . even with the price changes over the last decade ..
thanks for posting it took me awhile to get around to it ...
Hugs Judy:)

Unfortunately, I'm spending a bit more than I used to. But I know that's because I was eating a lot of fatty hamburger meat, hot dogs and other processed meats and a whole lot of pasta, which is very cheap.
Now I think I have pasta about once every couple of months as a side dish and I haven't really wanted a hamburger since about the end of January. Hot dogs were never a big favorite of mine until I got down here and started making my own corn dogs then, well, it got out of control. all the breads and breadings I was using , I've just had to curb that to be healthier. It was a choice for the better.

I spend more than I used to as well, but since we banned tobacco and alcohol from the house, we save about forty dollars every two weeks which can go for lean chicken and such. It also helps that we found boneless skinless chicken for less than two dollars a pound. (Funny about the alcohol- my spouse told me we had part of a half gallon of vodka in the cupboard and I hadn't even noticed, neither of us has taken a drop after she quit smoking and we both stopped eating grains. We just haven't wanted it.) I still spend more on food but eat more fruit and vegetables than I did. Too bad apples and broccoli are so expensive for me!

Isn't it interesting how those bottles of alcoholic bev just sit, and sit and sit. I have a single Seagrams Cooler in the fridge yet from the case I bought at Christmas time. lol. It looks me in the eye every time i open that door and grab the juice, and it's more of a visual reminder that I can either eat good for me foods that will feed my body nutrients or, I can drink that and get the calories and nothing else. Ummmmmm , nah. Like you, I just don't even want it anymore. It doesn't even sound good on these hot days.
