Hi Boardies,

A year ago today, I started another diet at 265 lbs. I did my usual - restricted calories, but didn't really add more veggies - maybe more fruit and salad. I lost as I always have been able to do (only to regain it) and was continuing, but in Sept. was getting sort of depressed/funky about it. That's when I found this board. What a life changer this has been. Almost 100 lbs. gone and I feel like I have truly learned how to do this for life, although I still have nightmares about regaining. Just wanted to mark this anniversary and thank all of you who have given me support and great advice along the way - Judy, Amber, Mommaxeli, Barb, Barbara, Helene, Laura, Pi, Roh, Tomato Kim and all the newbies (you know, we really do all learn from one another no matter where we are in our journeys). Sorry if I left anyone out specifically. I have a 58 year old brain and it is not what it once was, but hey, my body's a whole lot better!!! I look forward to sharing this journey with everyone for many years to come.

Happy Anniversary! It's nice to know that no matter where you are in your journey that we can always come here and learn something else new and helpful.
I see you've dropped a couple of lbs and kept them off long enough to post it. Congrats on that. You are just that much closer to your goal and only 1 lb from that elusive 100 lb lost mark. Is that great or what??! I mean, what an awsome accomplishment! And all without surgery or "fad" dieting. This will stick, forever, for you. I'm sure of it.

Debbie,

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to YOU!!!!!!!!!

I get a bit misty-eyed, too when I think how my life changed by coming here. The thing is IS that we chose and choose to make the healthy choices each and everyday. We have the POWER to make our lives healthy everyday.

I came here in Jan., 2010. I did not make alot of changes at first. The quote that got me going was "Progress not perfection". I guess I liked that one because it made me think that I could strive for progress everday and perfection just overwhelmed me.

Good for you to share the happy thoughts. BTW, your're a young'n compared to me at 67.

Glad to hear that Laura. Happy anniversary to you too. I still need to work on the exercise part of this journey. It's the hardest part for me to fit it in around work, etc. Excuses, excuses....

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I weighed 165.4 this morning, but not posting until it stabilizes there. However, I am secretly doing the happy dance thinking about 100 lbs. gone forever! You know, I guess since it's such a slow process, I now wonder how the heck I carried that around. No wonder people who have never been obese don't understand if I can't and I was obese for most of my life.

YAY!!! Do you hear that??? Those are tooty horns blowing just for you! 100 lbs... Let's see, prospective time...
At 100 lbs lost you have lost the weight of the average adult male whitetail deer
You have lost the weight of a Burpee Big Maxx Pumpkin with a girth of 70 inches
You have lost the weight of a Hellfire (Hal-3) Missile which can blow up a tank
You have lost what 46,400 dollar bills would weigh, and in case you are wondering(as I was) , how tall a stack of 46,400 dollar bills is, it's 15 feet 5 19/32 inches tall
