Hi Cami welcome aboard
what is it yu have been doing to achieve weight removal for a year that didn;t work?
what most of us are doing is changing our eating habits forever to healthier foods and adding in exercise . Makeing changes you can live with for life is a better approach than dieting because when you diet it is temporary and then you go back to old eating habits regain anything you removed it is a vicious circle ...
drink water instead of other drinks when thirsty
eat whole fruits and vegies 100%whole grains are good
a few nuts fat free milk and yogurt lean meats in proper portions make an effort to include green vegie every day
Hugs Judy:)

Hi cami, Welcome!
Listen to Judy. She's one of our mentors here. JUST look at her results below her advise! AND shes been in MAINTENANCE for, well, forever . So she knows where it's at about natural weightloss.
Please , start an online food and nutrition planner(journal) either here on WebMD or on Fitday.com
If you need advice on how to do the WebMD one, check out our responses to Loove who is also one of our new babies here on our blogsite. We love our new babies, we'll take care of you and help you grow into your journey to good health and lower weight.
The planner is pretty necessary though, so don't blow me off here. It will show you how many calories to aim for, and how much exercise you need to do to lose weight over time.
Do not think that this will be a fast journey. Please, please don't sabotage yourself by thinking that, because the fact is, if you need to lose quite a bit, alot will come off right off the bat, if you make the necessary changes to your diet, but it will be mostly water weight, then , well the fun REALLY begins, lol.
2 lbs a week is standard and medically correct. You cannot physically lose more than 2lbs a week without throwing off your nutrition, and necessary calories , your body will go into starvation mode and literally HOARD the calories and you will not budge the scale.
Do the planners, drink at least 64 oz of water a day (thats 1/2 gallon so be prepared) most of us now carry water in larger containers than the regular water bottles , just slip it in your purse as you walk out the door, you can drink water everywhere, i have personally proven that, lol. I DARE anyone to stop me from hydrating! grrrrrr
Don't skip meals, Don't "save up " your days calories for the evening meal, Eat your snax, Prepackage your snax to eat if you are on the run alot.
Eat a rainbow everyday, Vibrantly colored fruits and veggies are more nutritional.
DONT eat whites, white bread, white rice, white potatoes.... White isnt a color, it is the absolute LACK of color, its not on the rainbow
Eat to feed your body nutritionally, READ ALL FOOD LABELS watch the stuff that "says" its healthy for you right on the front of the box, Most of these items will cut something like sugar only to add tons of sodium and fats to make it taste better. But obviously, its worse really.
Try to slowly add more fresh raw fruits and veggies. If you dont' see yourself eating a bunch of salads, like me , then eat finger foods , like raw baby carrots, raw cauliflower, raw jicama etc.
IF you have to have dressings, Pour 1 tblsp into a small dish, dip the tips of the tines of your fork into that and then fork up some salad. In most cases, that 1 tblsp of dressing will be enough for a whole salad, I'm not kidding! try it!
Look back on our past blogs to get some ideas, recipes and how to's on getting over the hurdles.
Again, Welcome!
Kim

Hi Cami,
I've recently been doing a little background check on the 'Baby Food Diet'. My friends think it's a little crazy but you need to read the eBook on it and it explains much much more. You can get it from www.dietonbabyfood.com

I always tell people, don't knock out anything until you've researched it yourself, especially don't take on opinions of people who have not achieved what you want.

Good luck!

I don't think I could ever subsist entirely on baby food, I like the crunch of veggies and fresh fruits too much. But I do remember one that I loved and I don't even think they make it anymore, Hawaiian Delight. Loved it as a fruit dip . Gerber made it, Oh and the other one to die for is blueberry buckle I think it is. Yumm

Baby food is much too processed to me to ever consider using it. I don't think I even ate it as a baby! It just grosses me out. My folks used regular food and a blender. But hey, if it works for somebody else, who am I to worry? Just be sure it doesn't have a bunch of added sugar and preservatives.

Hi Cami. What do you usually eat? I needed to drop 30 pounds back in March, last year and opted for Dukan diet's weight loss coaching to help me do so. Basically, it's a low-carb, high-protein diet during which you eat healthy fruits and veggies, meat, eggs, fish and chicken. It's a low-sodium diet that encourages you to work out and that's exactly what I did. I like kickboxing and did it for 45 minutes every day. I'm sure you can do it! Don't lose heart!
