Hoping everyone survived the weekend without too many complications.

Mine went rather well ..
Saturday we went to my daughters house. Hubby was working on the brakes for her van. my day was all messed up .. not eating on the right schedule can make me really cranky really quick, as my daughter found out. I ate breakfast around 9 a.m. and didn't have anything else to eat till almost 5.. She is doing fairly well on her journey also.. she is down 25 lbs.

Sunday I stayed home and relaxed and we threw some steak on the grill and a couple of Lobster that we brought back from Maine with us in a pot and heated it back up along with a baked sweet potato.

Have a wonderful, Happy and Healthy week.

Congrats to your daughter! And Sunday sounds like a wonderful day filled with delicious foods! Aren't sweet potatoes the best?! I'm an addict now hahaha

My weekend had mixed successes and failures on the diet front. I stayed extremely well hydrated and did tons of physical activity! I spent Saturday at the Zoo with my friend and her adorable 6 year old, and was really psyched that my fitness allowed my to take him on a fast-paced, sweaty, uncomfortable piggy-back ride. I RAN with that boy on my back, and he just laughed and laughed. That day was also really great because I controlled myself at the zoo. I didn't get the hot dogs or corn dogs that were SCREAMIN my name, but what I did get was just a big "freezy", one of those frozen popsicle things. Only 110 calories and it was huge and festive, so I still felt like I was part of the fun.

Sunday I spent at the beach with my family....Played in the surf all day, went for a few mile walk with my little cousins and uncle. Just the perfect day! But I had leftover birthday cake for breakfast and Chilli's for dinner. In my defense, my healthy eating habits saw me through and I only had half the portions of the Chilli's stuff....which is good in a way, but does also mean I'll be having Chilli's today! hehehe

Oh well, though. I'd say I was 60% healthy this weekend, and even though that's not going to be enough to keep me actively losing, I'm just glad I didn't go as all-or-nothing with my intake as I usually do.

About the weekend....these used to be the killers for me. Work all week to get down and then go back up on Monday because of pigging out. Portion control thing works!

Sounds like you did just fine at your daughters, too. Good for her to be down 25 WTG for her! I get what you say, though about getting cranky when not eating a snack, that's why I pack protein bars and Crystal Light packets.

Your Sunday food sounds yummy, too!

Here's to making this week a good one.

Hi Pi,

Sounds like you did very well on the exercise and what you say aabout pretty good on the food, well the best thing is that you got rid of the all-or-nothing thinking and behavior. Really if we do 60% on track that is waay better than total mindless and out of control....that out of control stuff is sooo hard to whip back into shape. When we are mindful about our "planned indulgences" this is very different and feels soo good.

Good blog.....because you took the time to detail your exercise and eating and "how a person living a healthy lifestyle thinks".
I like too, that you gave a weekend account to us.

Keep going!

I agree, Barb. Pi is a good example of how we all need to blog what we are doing. Definitely, will keep us accountable and in touch with the reality of staying on track most of the time.

Yep, Progress NOT Perfection.....I think I hear that in my head on a daily basis. It is next to the tape that monitors portion control (that one doesn't play loud enough some days).

That's great about your daughter. I couldn't wait that long to eat I would faint! I am not so much into steak but would have loved the lobster and the sweet potato yummy! We have been grilling sweet potatoes on the grill. We slice them long ways and put olive oil on them and salt them. So good!

Amber, Good idea about the sweet potatoes on the grill. I was trying to think of ways to make them taste like the "fried" version which is so popular in the restaurants (need to stay off fried).

I use cinnamon a lot on mine. It gives them a sweeter flavor without extra calories.
