On The Plus Side

Remember I wrote to the City park services on Friday about my Restoration Park ?? Good news!
Over the weekend they trimmed, albeit almost into oblivian, some of the elephant grass and overhanging bush branches...
Monday, noticed that they had swept and scrubbed up all the very dead and molding detrius , leaves, pine needles, and just scum from the small wooden walking bridge ....
Tuesday, there are NO MORE gaps in the railing on that small bridge. They replaced ALL of the broken and missing spindles! I'm so happy about it, I could just BURST! They still need to , and hopefully will, trim the path that goes into the "interior" and fix the big marsh bridge, but the main trail is almost complete. I did email a short thank you to parks and recreation, just so that they know that what they have accomplished is not going unnoticed and unappreciated.
No walking today though
It was already so hot outside this am that it literally took my breath away when I took the trash out at dawn. So , I guess it'll have to be a Walmart and Hobby Lobby walk day.

Thanks guys! It really was going to come to a head if nothing had been done, because over the weekend I found out why our sales tax is so high down here. We pay 8-10% on everything , 8% for foods and 10 for "luxury" items, everything not food, like, say, toilet paper. As if that's a luxury.
BUT there is an additional 2% tax thrown on seperately on EVERYTHING, That's a city 'use" tax, for stuff like, ummm, parks and recreation
So , yeh it had the potential to get ugly, lol. I don't mind begging for a good cause, but if I'm already PAYING for it, lol, next step woulda been a "public pulse" article in the paper. I'm also not above GRIPING ! lol
Well, it's nice that they have done something anyhow and you guys are right, it never hurts to ask and be nice about it.
