Hi all, I walked 2.7 plus miles today with my 100 year old friend. It seemed easy and the company was enjoyable. I didn't even notice I was walking any distance at all.

I want to reach healthy weight and healthy diet.

Go Laura! (and your friend)!

Just focus on what you can do each day and let go of what didn't or did happen yesterday. I find this is what I need to do, and let go the past. Sounds like you got your motor running real good today!

I'm not sure which I should be more impressed with. You walking that 2.7 miles or that you have a 100 yr old friend that can still walk 2.7 miles...... GET ADVICE on longivity from your friend!
And share it here, please. 100 years old and doing that, amazing. Something for each and every one of us to shoot for.
All right, yes, I'm very very proud of you for your walk. You did well and took the initiative and DID it. GRATS! huggs
Grab that friend and walk daily with them. Talk about their past, THE PAST in general. Let them take you back to yesteryear when walking was basically the only mode of transportation for most people. Pick their brain about how ppl ate, and exercised and spent their free time. People that live that long do so because they did something, or everything RIGHT. lol
Just keep it up, you are on the right track

Please dont tell me Susan is the 100 year old. That would just be too much to take, lol
Hope you had a good time and aren't too much in pain from all the exertion in one day!

Kim, I just saw your jaw drop! I think "Susan" is Laura's dau., the one going out for tennis team......although it may be Laura's centenarian (100 yrs.) friend. If it is her friend walking 2.7 miles AND 1 hr. of tennis you WILL be seeing my jaw drop!

Kim, my dad lived to be 101. He ate everything, but was very active and thin. He did eat a variety of fruits and veggies with the higher fatty and carb foods. He ALWAYS had cookies and desserts, but was not a big snacker. He really seemed to be intune with the seasons. He went hunting in the Fall, Summer he gardened, went mushroom picking, picked wild flowers for my mom.....just enjoyed what Nature gave us.

Over a century old. Something to look forward to if you keep doing what's good for your body. What an achievement all on it's own, but if he also had his health and his mind for the most part, then thats even better. What else could you ask for? Right?
