I was just diagnosed with pre-diabetes and was put on Metformin. My doctor told me if I lose weight and exercise I won't need to continue with the meds. My concern is if I start taking Metaformin, I will have to keep taking it. My doc also said that the Metaformin helps you lose weight, is that right?

Well, it makes it to were your body does not asorb as much sugar and just allows it to pass through, so it would make since. But if you lose weight and exercise, it could help with more than just pre-diabetes
