So, for my first measure and my second measure I used a piece of string and measured that. I found my tape measurer and used that last night...that might be having some impact on the accuracy of my measures. So....yeah.

Laura, I was also thinking, I know you live on a corner lot, do your trees obstruct views to any street signs, stop signs, lights, school crossing, etc or to anything like advertising billboards?
Cities are notorious for cutting back trees without thought to asthetics and from what I understand a lot of billboard places won't admit to it because its illegal, but they cut or kill trees that block view to their paying customers' ads.

In order to check on the city, call your city municipal bldg.
If you want your trees to look nice and not possibly die from huge cuttings, call in your own professional horticulturist and get the job done by someone who knows plantings and their growth habits.
It costs, but it's worth it in the long run if your trees stay healthy.

As for your gain again and your measurements, don't despair. You are right on schedule for what I was really hoping for you to "learn" from this first challenge.
You may not even lose much this next time, because it'll still be taking effect.
But, Laura, you ARE making progress in inner strength and in your Conscious Eating habits. You are looking at foods differently now and analyzing what you eat before you eat it.
That's a huge step in the right direction.

We are starting up a new 10 day challenge tomorrow. You'll have to measure yourself (like people posted above) and then weigh in daily and post that as well (only if you are comfortable posting that. Also, you will post what you do for exercise every day and what you eat - 100% honesty! Also, another thing you can post is your mood when you are eating things. The purpose of the challenge is to keep us accountable to each other and help ourselves to understand not only WHAT we eat, but also WHY. Feel free to join in. Kim is usually on the earliest and makes the new post each day.

totallywiggedout replied to mishabl's response:
Margie, its pretty simple and CHEAP entertainment, lol

First get a sewing measuring tape, about $1 if you don't already own one.
Second beg borrow or steal someone's scale that is trustworthy, lol (or get a new one) OR just weigh in every morning at walmart right after you use the bathroom for the first time

Ok,
Rules are, BE COMPLETELY HONEST to yourself and to the core group.

ACCOUNTABILITY IS A MUST

FULL DISCLOSURE (or at least what you are comfortable with for first time around) IS REQUIRED

We do a first measurement of the stats that were listed, some, don't add in the tummy apron(aus) and some have troubles with figuring out where to measure (Laura) ....
It's ok.
Basically it's where YOU perceive all of these things to be.
Most of us measure bust, not by bra size but across meaty part of back and around nipple area.
ankles and wrists , just above the bone
Tummy is the apron area above pubis if you have one
waist is the "dip" where your pants usually ride, perhaps it still has a bit of an hourglass there(?)
Thighs , calves , biceps around biggest point

tape is pulled tight enough to read without "pulling or pinching skin to make wrinkles"

We require AM weights EVERY MORNING if possible.
** Done right after waking, right after first potty, and BEFORE ANYTHING PASSES YOUR LIPS***

This is all part of the accountability .
We don't lie, we don't fluff, we don't hide.
BE BRAVE! BE TRUE TO YOURSELF, and BE PROUD!

LOOK FOR the DAY # and date to be sure to post on the right one.
Post AM weights, your feelings , the weather, breakfast, am exercise, etc. As with the posts from this last challenge.

Day 1 we Post measurements, and weights
Every day is AM weight
Day 6 AM (to allow for full 5th day regime) we POST REMEASURE and AM weight
Then on the 11th Day(to get in all of 10th and final day) the 3rd and FINAL MEASURE and AM WEIGH IN

I figure out everyone's stats and bring them forward so that we don't forget or lose track of our accomplishments.

We post ALL foods eaten during the day, some of us post ingredients of recipes so that others can try it too.

Post ALL exercise done for the day,

Most of us post about 3 times, AM , Late afternoon and sometime in the evening so that we don't forget anything and get it all posted.

It sounds difficult but it's really not. It's pretty flexible, like Kali works so her posts were later... Laura sleeps in ... Kathy is a gamer, so her posts get in "sometime" during the day, lol da da da BUT they DO post as required.

That's it really.
Anyone can join, but Laura CAN'T QUIT!! I'm NOT DONE WITH HER YET, lol
Everyone gives support and takes the punishment they deserve. even me... THAT'S part of the accountability too. You OWN what choices you make, reguardless.
