    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

Surgery went good when they finally got to her. Doc still not sure what type of virus is in the knee. Removed the knee replacement and put in spacer for now, until infection is cleared up. Will eventually put new knee replacement back in looking at about 4 months of recovery and rehab until back to good again. Yesterday was a stressful day.

Breakfast 1/2c kashi go lean, banana, c ff milk
Lunch Low fat yogurt 1 boiled egg salad
Dinner homemade chili (lean hamburger) 1 sm piece of cornbread

Thanks for all the prayers and support Friends. HUGGS

Good Grief! I get the willies when I even think about what your mother is going through. I figured it was a bacterial infection, but a virus? That's terrible. It puts the fear of God into a knee sufferer. Poor her and poor you. I'll be thinking of you both.

what is this spacer like? Does it still bend like a regular knee? Can she walk even??
Jeez I sure hope that they gave her some exercises to do in the meantime so that she doesn't suffer too much muscular degeneration till she can have the actual replacement surgery and get back onto her feet. Sounds like a recipe for disaster when it comes to weightgain and overall health loss.

    Hope this heals fast.

Thank you everyone for the prayers. Kim they have her knee straight right now but I'm sure with the insurance company pushing to get everyone out of hospital and into a rehab facility that they will have her do physical therapy soon. Yesterday they had her sitting up in a recliner. They had to put a PICC in for her antibiotics and anything thing else that they need vein wise. HUGGS
