DAY 15, C4, Saturday YOU SNOOZE YOU LOSE!

Muscle burns more calories than fat, even when you're at rest. People who have a high percentage of lean body mass will burn more calories while sleeping. The easiest way to increase lean muscle tissue and decrease body fat is to perform resistance training exercises a few days per week. Examples of resistance exercises include: squats, lunges, push-ups, sit-ups, bicep curls, triceps extensions, dead lifts, and lateral shoulder raises. Pilates exercises are also great for resistance training, keeping your body toned, and increasing your metabolism

    *************

NOT saying that I have a HIGH percentage of muscle vs fat, but I have to say that in the last couple of weeks, my sleep pattern have been eratic at best and while I AM asleep, I'm burning SOMETHING because parts of my body that have higher pulse points, under arms, wrists, temples , back of head, groin and backs of knees are really sweating A LOT, yet the rest of my body feels chilled enough for at least a sheet. It's getting hectic to figure out how to get warm and cool at the same time, lol

But then again, it may be menopause, lol who knows?

    AM weight
    178.4

    Breakfast
    1 super humungous pear
2 lg travel cups of dark cocoa coffee
    32 oz water

Yesterday we ended up having Beef Fajitas for lunch, I had two and some tortilla chips and salsa.

Dinner was chicken and broccoli casserole with 1/2 c wild rice.

    Then.... sleepy time.........

Lunch today will be a deli sliced roast chicken rollup with laughing cow light, spinach and a little dab of fig preserves, yes, Kathy, I still have some!

Dinner will be out. Michael is installing a new hood vent atm for my stove, and then we'll be taking off for the great unknown. Our Saturday driving jaunt to wherever the road takes us.
    I'll post that later.

have a great day, I'll try to check in on my phone while we are driving.

    Good morning all,

    weight 210.2

I looked at those google images under lymphedema and let me assure you, I am not that badly off. People don't notice one arm is larger than the other until I tell them. Then they say, oh yeah, I see that. I am wearing a compression sleeve, which is like a girdle for my arm. I covers the bottom half of my hand like you see some medieval ladies wear and stretches all the way to my underarm. It is uncomfortable when I first don it but in an hour or so I become used to it. I wear it 22-23 hours per day.

I ate according to my diet yesterday. So far today.

    .5 c. rolled oats
    .5 c. blackberries
    .5t. cinnamon
    1 large apple
    .5 oz pecans
    Smoochies,

I'm still trying to find more info on this, Sharon. For sure, you would want to decrease or completely take out all forms of sodium in your diet just because of the resultant water retention which you CERTAINLY don't need any of now, right??
You said something about pt, are you also getting the massage therapy from a Lymphodema massage specialist? If so, or even not, is this sort of massage something that you could do at home? Would one of those vibrating , massaging foot baths help with this at all??? Seems that immersing your arm into one of those would help , but then again, I don't have a clue....

I'm taking it that this has affected you from wrist up to about mid bicep??

.... well , anyhow, now that you've seen those pictures, you at least know what we were all so worried about. Those are just terrrible images, aren't they?

Glad that yours isn't as bad. I hope yours never GETS that bad...EVER.

One of these days I will wake up at a normal time and stay awake. I ate a lot last night after dinner - just was SUPER SUPER hungry. Nothing too bad though. And I haven't been eating a whole lot the past few days, so I am thinking it was okay. Because of the late night eating and early weighing, my weight was up a tad to 188.0 But really, it could have been a lot worse. I'm happy with where I am at currently.

Annnd here's Judy out in her garden stealing the little gold crowns off of every broccoli princess in the patch, being chased back to the house by the protective garden gnomes... then lamenting, after catching her breath, that her hubby's tummy troubles made it so she couldn't go walking today....

Judy, running from Garden Gnomes IS exercise.. and even if they didn't chase you, cutting up and CHEWING all those various crunchy veggies HAD to have burned some calories

Yep Helene plenty of protein, but way more sodium than you need. All that Asian cooking sauce and everything... gotta watch that, but otherwise you made it within calorie range as long as you don't indulge too much tonight. But I'm betting your weight will bounce up in the next couple days by 2 lbs.... watch and see. that sodium is torture.

Better choices make the difference in how your body metabolizes it , even while sleeping. I know it's difficult to find the time right now, Kali, but you are needing to do some exercise to push through this hard spot you've come up against. Even if you go balls to the wall and sprint up the street then walk back nice and easy , 3 times a week it'd help boost your body into burn mode better.
