Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

    Color Yourself HealthyTo get the most health benefits, the Produce for Better Health Foundation recommends that you eat 5-9 servings total from the five color groups every day.
    Red: red apples, cherries, cranberries, raspberries, red grapes, strawberries, red pears, watermelon, beets, red peppers, radishes, red onions, red potatoes, rhubarb and tomatoes
    Yellow/Orange: yellow apples, apricots, cantaloupe, grapefruit, lemons, nectarines, oranges, peaches, pineapples, tangerines, butternut squash, carrots, yellow peppers, pumpkin, summer squash, sweet corn and sweet potatoes
    Blue/Purple: blackberries, blueberries, purple grapes, raisins, plums, dried plums and eggplant
    White: bananas, brown pears, cauliflower, garlic, ginger, mushrooms, onions, parsnips, potatoes and turnips
    Green: avocados, green apples, green grapes, kiwifruit, honeydew melon, limes, green pears, peas, asparagus, broccoli, celery, cabbage, green beans, brussels sprouts, green pepper, cucumbers, leaf lettuce, spinach and zucchini

    My rainbow today started as usual

    Orange 3.5 oz orange
    red 3.4 oz raspberries



    diner plans
    white mushrooms
    green mixed greens and asparagus
    yellow 1/4 bell pepper

    red radish and tomato


    later there will be more red and some blue purple this shold cover my rainbow

    PS Kathy dried plums aka prunes are in the list as well as raisins
    could be figs maybe are allowed but I am not sure if figs are just dried or do they have added sugars in the process .. lets ask Kim how figs are dried ..

    Breakfast strawberry yogurt, 1 c grape nuts, banana, 1 c ff milk, purple grapes

    Lunch lettuce, carrots, tomatoes, cantaloupe

    Dinner Tilapia grilled, brown rice, corn

    Breakfast red, brown, yellow, white, purple
    Lunch green, orange, red, orange
    Dinner white fish ?, brown, yellow

    A new low today.
    Weigh-In 184 Wooohooo!

    Brkfast: Orange - 1 orange, 1 cup of joe
    might have yellow for a snack - banana.

    Not sure what I'm going to do today on eating. I should be home all day till this evening. Then going into town to say good bye to my grandbaby. He has to go back to MO to finish his Marine training.

    There is no sugar in the drying process. I googled it.
    AusGram -SW - 194; CW -188; GW -150 for now, will lower that WHEN I reach it.

    Breakfast - Just a yogurt

    Lunch - all i have at work is chow mein, so still no colors

    Dinner - I am going to need some making up here. I was thinking about doing chicken and sun dried tomato enchiladas (red) with a veggie stir fry on the side. Maybe broccoli, zucchini and squash with olive oil and garlic. (green, yellow and white)

    Hello. My rainbow looks a lot like yesterdays.

    Red- apple, tomato (in both lunch and dinner)
    Orange- carrots, orange
    Green- spinach, spring onions (the green part), peppers

    Having trouble getting the white and blue/purple in. May have to go to the grocery store for plums or something!

    Well I do, Judy, but only with the good healthy food I started eating since January. I tend to up my portions. I haven't gone back to any junk food or sweets at all. I hope I never do!

    Red - pomegranate juice, cherries

    Blue - blueberries

    White - banana, dates

    Orange - clementine, 8 oz orange juice

    Kathy, if you beg to have a challenge , then celebrate when they are over.... isn't that confusing? Do you like the challenges or do you just like to have them so that you can celebrate afterward? lol

    Kathy, you had all these fruits today?? Add them into your fitness planner and chk the sugar for today, ok?? wondering if your blood glucose won't skyrocket if you do this too often.... just watch your intake. I know that veggies are literally a pain in the butt right now, but watch these high glucose fruits too.
