Good Morning Judy - everyone sleeping in? Ha, or at work.

Weigh-In 187 finally dropped that pound.
Brkfst - 1 lrg orange, 1 cup of joe w/c/s

Not sure what to have today for lunch. Carl brought home a pizza yesterday, but its one of those ones made at the grocery store. 340 cal per piece and I had 2 pieces and a salad.
So I will have the same today.
Might have 1 egg, 1 sm sausage patty on 1 piece of toast later.

Its snowing out and I can't believe it. It's so beautifully awesome.

Still the same weight - 216.4. I got gobsmacked yesterday on my trip to the eye doctor to get new glasses because I was having trouble reading with my prescription. He did his testing and told me I have glaucoma! I've been researching all I can since then and Im not sure if I actually have it or its likely I'll develop it because my readings are high normal so he wants to treat me. I think it's the latter so I have more questions for him. Is there any end to this stuff. Lets see, fat, balding, crippled in the knees, potentially blind. The only positive in this is that I could need a dog and I really want a dog. You know 65 isn't all it's cracked up to be!

Good morning everybody.

AM weight 294.0. I need to change it on my signature line bc I have been in the low 290's for a while. I hate to record that gain. Oh well.

I slept in so I ate my breakfast late and am skipping lunch...the usual- diced apple in oatmeal w 1 1/2C skim milk w sugar free chocolate syrup.

It is my coworker's last weekend working with me so the group home is taking him out to eat tonight. Probably a Chinese buffet. Wish me luck there. I have been doing too poorly lately to think I deserve a chance to splurge. "Splurge" has been my middle name since last Wednesday and it's time to tighten the reins.

Also my boyfriend went to his first doctor visit for weight loss surgery. They are required to lose before the surgery, in addition to going to many consults from nutritionists (they encourage lean proteins and veggies), counselors, etc...so maybe we will help each other out more, instead of pulling each other down. I hope we can really help each other out.

Kathy- Sorry to hear about your eye healthy. Maybe get a list from Judy for all the eye healthy foods that she eats. This may very well be your turning point. Btw, get the dog! So nice to snuggle with on cold mornings!

Kathy, you are NOT going to go blind!!! It was caught early and you will begin treatment. Plus, you can get a prescription for marijuana which is supposed to be very good for glaucoma but you have to watch out for the munchies...lol.

Start taking billberry capsules - I get them at Wal-Mart - and lutein (not sure of spelling) and I believe that is found in tomatoes.

Biotin is supposed to help with hair growth. I take it because it is supposed to be good for diabetes too.

Bottom line is eat as healthily as you can. As Judy has proven with her improved eye health and having no more asthma it does work.

And, to top it off I'm going to be praying for you too!!!

Now it's my turn to talk about me - HA! I had a small bean and cheese burrito for dinner last night. This morning I stopped and got a breakfast burrito to split with my co-worker. I probably won't eat anything the rest of the day except my blackberries since they don't keep very long even in the refridgerator. Then my son and I are going out for sushi tonight. Most of it is pretty healthy - I'll try to go easy on the rice. I am going to have a beer and some sake. YUMMY!!

If I don't get back here today I hope you all have wonderful and safe weekends!!!

Hi Kathy My hubby got that same impression when he last had his eyes exam for glasses I made him an appointment with an eye specialist and there was no glaucoma so I started him on ocuvites they have lutein in them to at least get the right vitamin in him . any illness can be helped by a health diet with some exercise the last time I was dieting in my 30s I only payed attention to calories this time around it is my focus on nutrition that is making the difference

Late checking in again: Kathy so sorry about your eyes. Good it's been caught early though. Judy is such a great example for us all with her nutrition and discipline. She sure has turned her eye issues around with her food choices.

Rachael, hang in there. It should help that your boyfriend will be watching his food intake- take advantage of that!

Breakfast: oatmeal, 1/2 banana, walnuts, black coffee Lunch: veggie soup Dinner: small baked potato, chicken and broccoli

(((Kathy))) It's too early to think catastrophically! You sure are in the right place with people who have proven the nutrition-health connection. So glad you are part of this community. I have missed a lot of posts, but this one caught my attention. If you need to have a moment, I say take it, get it out of your system, but set a time limit then try to shake off the negative and begin planning a strategy for improved health. ((Big hugs))

I am sorry to hear of the eye problem. Ocuvite was what my dh's grandma took and she did well with it. I'm glad you're researching it because knowledge is power and coupled with seeing the doc and being on top of this is HUGE! Caught early its pretty treatable from what I've heard.

I know when I get another dx with my crippled knees, allergies, bad back, nausea and headaches.................ITS REALLY EXASERPERATION FOR ME TOO! You're entitled and then get back on the horse.

Rachael,
I know I had gained back last year and kept going up and down like the yoyo. I think its' great that you may have some help with this journey we're on in the weight dept.!! If he's seein a doc for weight loss no doubt they will hit on the physchological aspect of this. Its all about our thoughts and genes too but all of our behaviors start with the thought . I'm in your corner Rachael.

The snow sure is beautifully awesome Aus!!

Good to see everyone here ..................GO BRONCOS!!

Kathy I had glaucoma and the doctor did lazer surgery on me and my chances of going blind went from 95% to less then 1%. So you are in the right place. Make sure you find a doctor that specializes in glaucoma.
And you think 65 isn't all what its cracked up to be, wait till your 70. Getting old isn't for sissys. So hang in there and make the best of it. ha.
