Morning. Breakfast was bagel with cream cheese. It was provided by work. I also had one bagel hole that had cinnamon sugar on it. Water. I am having 8 oz hot chocolate once it cools enough to drink it.

Still sick. I've been coughing a lot and my throat hurts - but I think I've hit the worst of it and will be getting better now.

Hope everyone is doing alright!

Hi Judy, Hi Kali...and everyone else that come on.

Weight is 300.0...My incentive to have a good nutrition weekend is to be under 300 at my Monday morning weigh in.

Breakfast was my diced apple oatmeal and skim milk w sugar free chocolate syrup.

Lunch will be canned salmon mixed w light mayo and mustard, over a salad consisting of Romaine, baby carrots, tomatoes, green pepper and mushrooms.

I have no idea on dinner yet.

I am taking the weekend off of exercise as I have an eye infection that is making me crazy, and I just want to pamper myself.

I hope everyone has a good weekend!!

Morning all.
Michael and I made our first really large major furniture purchase (since being together) yesterday.
We bought a bed, the whole bed , with queen mattress set.
We had been sleeping on my deceased mom and dad's full set and antique Waterfall Style bed. Nasty old thing anyhow....
I swear, we were waking up with more aches and pains than we went to bed with. It was definitely time for a softer approach for our old bones. lol.
I can't tell you how much it made a difference in how we both felt upon waking today. It was soooooo nice!

******************
I "splurged" for dinner last night and decided to have some of the tater tot casserole that I made instead of my planned meal. Such a not good idea, and result. I repounded 2 lbs and I'm thinking it was the sodium. So mad I could just spit! grrrrr
Was planning on having a sport's city grill burger today for "Friday Lunch out", but after that weigh in, decided that we'll hit Subway instead and I'll have a veggie 6", no cheese, no condiment, but I'll carry in a Laughing Cow Light wedge to spread on it.

Breakfast, fridgeraider smoothie
Lunch , subway as described
Gym workout, 30 min recumbant, 1 hr water aerobics
Post workout snack, choc. protein shake w/ chia seeds
Dinner, baked Tilapia w/ lemon pepper and asst roasted veggies

Judy, you lost 10 days?? lol.
Kali, it's high time you felt better. Now, get right on that!

have a great day everyone!
Watch out for that new cold front coming in.

Aus, let's run away together. I promise, I won't cook for you and won't expect you to cook for me...ever. Nor will we ever have to do eachother's dishes. .... deal?
I catch myself thinking the same darned thing just about every night. Too many meals and too many friggen dishes have gone under the bridge. Like an endless sea.
It does get a bit much sometimes. So I understand your plight.

Rachael, I hope your eye gets better soon. Keep your hands away from it. Use warm washcloths to help with the itchiness.

Rachael have you been to the doctor for your eye? Several years ago I got a BAD infection in my left eye. The infection went into my cornea and for about two weeks I had to go to a cornea specialist every day (except weekends) for a couple of weeks and I had to put very strong antibiotic drops in my eye every waking hour for at least a week. I was going to doctors quite often for months afterwards.

I'm advising you to take this very seriously. About a year and a half after the initial infection my medical insurance approved laser surgery on my eye to remove as much of the scar tissue as possible.

GO TO THE DOCTOR if you haven't already!!

Hi everyone. I went to the eye doc who recommended an expensive drop 4xdaily. It's a dry eye and I really didn't understand the second part of his diagnosis. When I go back in a couple weeks I will get him to explain it better to me as to what is going on. He did say that the eye condition can be symptomatic of a thyroid condition and he wanted me to get that checked asap, so I am next week. Maybe I will call his office on Monday and get them to explain to me what is going on. I hate to be this out of the loop w my own body.

bigred53 replied to rachael2011's response:
Rachael I'm really glad that you went to the doctor. When I was going through all my stuff one of the antibiotic drops was a $50.00 co-pay plus $15.00 every time I went to the doc. Then when the infection was gone the steroid drops to help lessen the scarring were pretty expensive too.

Another thing, if your eye doesn't start getting better by Monday don't wait. Make the eye doc fit you in.

I think it's a good idea to get your thyroid hormone levels checked. I know there are two different ones but most docs/labs will only check one. If your thyroid levels are low that could be one reason you are having trouble losing weight. I know about your confessions and I don't think your slips have been that bad. I'm certainly not any better at this lifestyle change than you are. Hey, you exercise and I don't so many kudos to you!!!

I think you're right to pamper yourself this weekend. When we don't feel good we need to be pampered and if there is nobody else around there is nothing wrong with doing it for ourselves.

Take care sweetie!!

I hope the drops have made your dry eyes better by now Rachael. I get dry eye problems in the winter when the heat is on, especially now that we don't have radiators...loved that steam heat and miss it so, but that's a sad story. Maybe yours will feel better when this blasted endless winter is over tho I see you're getting nailed again as I write this. The drops have worked for me and hopefully they will for you too.

bigred53 replied to mog1026's response:
Hey Kathy! Just a little FYI. Put a big pot of water on the stove and let it simmer. It will help keep the air moist. I remember the pots of water on the wood stoves in the winter at my great grandparents house. They only had heat from the fireplace and the wood stoves. That will really dry the air out. My mom would do the same thing in the winter when we used the heat. I don't like being all dried out and feeling like a human prune.

Here in Southern California we get the Santa Ana winds which are very dry. I use lots of cream then.

Another thing that can help keep your skin and eyes moist is fish oil supplements. Other women tell me how nice my skin is. I have always tried to keep my face out of the sun as much as possible. I have no crow's feet.
