I have made up a food journal much like the fitday journal counting Cals. Carbs. Fats & Prot. I use the "Protein Counter" book to track my calories. I write my findings in a small Rolodex logging in common foods that I eat. I have been at this for literally years... Yesterday, I ate 1,916 calories, too much but it's a start.

I guess never giving up is the key and I'm hoping eventually I get it right.

well counting is good but there is a margin of error in counting calories easy to under estimate
If you have a food scale you can weigh and measure the foods to get a better calorie count too ...
thats righ never give up this is a forever plan ...
look over your logging and see what is adding in the most calories . I avoid most proccessed foods. they can be deceptive in calorie reporting ...

I just started again but I've been at this a long time. I have a digital food scale and when I'm on plan I weigh and measure everything. I rarely eat anything processed because of the bad fats and salt content.

I went to a nutritionist once and she gave me an eating plan from the American Dietietc Association . So, I use that as my road map.

My problem has been sticking to my eating plan. I have worked on the life style change and I have changed my eating habits to healthier food choices but I'm still eating too much.

This time I feel like maybe I can succeed if I really try. I have all my ducks in row and have a pretty good idea how to get the job done. I realize once I'm there I will have to maintain but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
