Abdominal Pain with unknown cause HELP ME PLEASE
    jd45177 posted:
I have been suffering with SEVERE lower abdominal pain now for over 2 months now. I am seeing a gastro specialist and no one can figure out the cause of my pain. The only time I get relief from it is when I go to the ER and get a strong narcotic shot for pain (dilaudid and morphine has been the only effective medicine). I have had a colonoscopy and was told it came back fine. I am currently taking Phenergan, Bentyl, Prevacid, and Hydrocodone. The hydrocodone gives me more relief out of all of them but it is still no where near strong enough to dull the pain enough to the point where I can handle it. I frequently have nausea and diarreah with it and is so painful that I am constantly scared to eat or drink anything. Even water causes me extreme discomfort. I am currently dehydrated and anemic from it. I was in the ER the night before last and was so drained they couldn't give me an I.V. My vein blew with every attempt. My gastro dr. says there is no sign of chrons and no matter what I eat or drink the pain doesn't get better. No foods make it worse than others. They found no problems in the large intestine and so far I am just being treated like a drug seeker due to the fact I constantly tell the ER doctors and my specialist I need medicine for the pain. My specialist the gastro doctor says i shouldn't even be on narcotic pain meds for it but nothing else works. I've been on antibiotics recently(Flagyl, Cipro) and they were supposed to help but as others, have done no good. If you can advise me please do for I am afraid for how much longer I can endure this before doing something drastic to not have to suffer anymore. Please help me, I have no where else to turn.

my wife was just released from the er today. i can understand what you must be going thru, because my wife is looked like she is crazy or something because all her test come back negative and her pain comes and goes.she was told to follow up with her doctor and get a referral to see a pain management doctor.before we left the nurse taking care of my wife told us to ask the doctor about( Noratin ) i'm not sure if that's the correct spelling of the drug. I hope this helps you and wish you well soon.

I know how frustrating it can be to not have the doctors figure out your condition. That has happened to me on now 3 occasions. But, ironically, I've found answers to all three of my pprevious conditions via alternative health. As a result, when I or a member of my family has an ailment I now consult alternative health practitioners as well as MDs. So far, the Alternative health practitioners or integrative health MDs are the ones that have helped my family and I not traditional doctors.

I have a child who had vomiting, and stomach pains which were solved not by the GI doc who told him there was nothing wrong with him but the alternative health practitioner who gave him an intensive digestive enzyme pill (contained hydrocholoric acid). the very first time he took the pill with his meal, he was able to eat his entire meal and did not vomit afterwards or during the meal as was the case on some occasions. His diet, though not horrible by today's standards, was inadequate for his needs. He needed much more vegetables and yogurts to aid his digestion. She also prescribed a probiotic aid to build natural probiotics in his system. It's been almost 2 years and he's never thrown up again, and he no longer needs his pill with every meal. I don't think he takes it at all anymore. I hope you are willing to look in at "ancient health wisdom" practices up until the past century. There is more help there than I realized until I started searching.

my surgeon did an exploratory on me and found little fissurres. Removed them and the pain was gone. Still dealling w ibs/diar. Went to GI and investigated the drug Lotronex together. We dedicided it was a fit and i am so ever thankful it works!!
Now, to figure out why I can't digest any foods. I'm on day 7 of an inpatient stay.

You should have them check how your gallbladder is working if you still have it. I am practically know at my community ER because I complain so much about stomach pain. One day I had the ER doctor order a specific exam where they check how your inside is working and thats when they discovered that my gallbladder was not processing my food like it should. It helped with me a little. I hope this will help you.

I am helping a friend deal with symptoms identical to yours. She said she could have written you description herself. She has had extensive test leaving the doctors scratching their heads. She's given up on regular doctors--all they are interested in is the money they make of her suffering. We are doing the necessary research and won't stop until we find relief for her pain. Hydrochloride relieves her pain as well, but we know where depending on that will lead.
If we find any answers to this problem we'll let you know and we request the same of you.
