Gallbladder surgery?

clavalley posted:
I was having really bad stomach problems, sent for an ultrasound to find out I have gallstones. I had pain and attacks for a few months, tried to change a few things in my diet and eventually(don't know how) the attacks subsided. This was about 2 yrs ago, I just got a letter in the mail from a general surgeon saying that I have an appointment about my gallbladder. I'm wondering if you're able to pass gallstones and if I should keep the appointment or just call and cancel because I'm no longer having any symptoms. That being said, with my luck I'd cancel the appointment and then start getting the attacks again, and have to wait another 2 years for a referral. Any insight would be appreciated.

Hi clavalley -

Glad you symptoms subsided and surprised it took two years for a referral! What country do you live in?

Here is a resource to help you make your decision, Understanding Gallstones - Diagnosis and Treatment and an answer about passing gallstones.
