    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Chronic diarrhea- Dr. seems baffled

I have had diarrhea for 4 months (maybe more) now, every day, multiple times a day. I'm nauseated, have no appetite (yet have gained weight), and have blood in the stools.

I've been seeing a GI specialist for the last 3 months and am going to go elsewhere. The most recent test ordered was for celiac disease. If I had my mental faculties about me I would have reminded the Dr. that was a pointless test as I've been gluten free for over 9 months. (I was dehydrated and went to urgent care accordingly.)

Some of the tests that have been run include: endoscopy/colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy, various bloodwork, stool cultures, CT endography.... all with normal results.

Any ideas as to other, less common causes?

My baby was passing blood in her stool and when we finally got a doctor who would actually run some test she tested positive for c-diff and e-coli. I know that will cause the same symptoms as what you have discribed has your doctor checked you for that?
