I have been recently diagnosed with decreased myenteric interstitial cells of cajal. In short, these cells are to the digestive system what a pacemaker is to the heart. My digestive system just stops working, completely. I have had several surgeries and am constantly in the hospital. There are two Pathologists in the U.S. at the Mayo Clinic who study what and have and after reviewing my lab results they responded by telling me it would be useless and a waste of time for them to see me. My intent was to have them use me for case study. That was my last hope. I sit around in excrutiating pain on a daily basis and am having a hard time getting pain medication. I have a PIC line and am on TPN.I also have malabsortion issues and I have Gastroparesis.I tried to get in touch with Dr. Oz and have had no response. I am in desperate need of help. Any suggestions out there?

Use a very strict GAPS protocol. Start with meat broths (grass-fed meat with bones that is). I would not eat anything else for a while. Once you feel better, go for GAPS. No probiotics, medicine or supplements for now till you get better.

An_248770, have you considered looking into small intestine transplants? There are a number of centers that now do them.
