My problem started 3 months ago after taking this product called Advocare & at the same time I started taking Synthroid For Thyroid, Heaviness on My chest and a Pressure under my Breast Bone that was the most painful feeling. Bloating was bad. I felt like I could burp and couldn't, There was also a stinging feeling I experienced, and swollen gums. I would have anxiety attacks, shortness of breath, Because of the pressure in my stomach got so bad, they did all these test on me, gallbladder checked out fine, Xray just showed I was impacted. I had a upper endoscopy and I had a Small Hernia and Gastritis. However doctor said my symptoms didn't match up with these findings. Put me on alot of Acid Reducers & I Got NO Relief, the only thing that happened was I became Deficient in B12 because of the Prilosec, and the Carafate & there is one stronger can't think of right now. Well here it is I am still experiencing all these problems. With no one telling me why I am experiencing this. What else can they do to find out what is wrong? Doctor doesn't seem to want to find out what is going on, I have never been so miserable in my life. The pain radiates around to the center of my back. I have tried everything natural under the sun, Apple Cider Vinegar, to Digestive Enzymes and I have had Colonics done to no relief, I am desperate to find relief. Does anyone have any Ideas of what it could be or anything they have tried to help them feel better? Anyone here have similar issues? Thank you

About six months ago I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and put on synthroid, I have noticed that I can't drink milk or eat some veggies without having gass and bloating now. I use to have chest pains, racing heart and shortness of breath before I started taking the synthroid. Do you have your thyroid levels checked regularly?

Yes I do, thanks for your reply I got to researching my problems started before I was put on Synthroid. Iam on a very low dose. Im still having problems been 4 months now. Does your bloating and gas happen soon after you take the synthroid? I couldnt sleep last few days due to shortness of.breathe. I just had it rechecked and it.was ok. I have addisons disease too. Biggest complaint is bloating and pain under my breast a burning sensation.

Synthroid is a synthetic medicine. Before it was available, people were taking natural thyroid medicine.
I was lucky enough to have my obstetrician interested in natural products. She put me on THYROID, a natural compound from Women's Pharmacy or Hopewell Pharmacy. Either one, with a prescription, can send you the medicine. You need to get blood test to determine the strength of the compound to be adapted to your need.
This compound will alleviate you symptoms from Synthroid.
Good luck.

I know this is an older post, but I was wondering if you have found any answers? I started the advocare challenge about 2.5 weeks ago with great reslts. I was losing about 1lb per day. About a week ago I started getting a tightness and pressure right in the center of my upper stomach. No pain, just pressure. And sometimes it's so bad I feel like I can't breath. It usually is worse first thing in the morning until around lunch when I'm able to each which makes me feel better. Carbonation makes me feel better as well as I am able to burp and release a little pressure. Doctor says I did too much too soon and to back off the fiber. I thought maybe it was my gallbladder but she said i would know if it was my gallbladder and my symptoms dont match what a gallbladder would cause. Did u get any answers? I'm 26, healthy, slightly over weight by about 15lbs...no previous problems, normal bloodwork

Daniell89, Hello my name is Christie. I started Advocare challenge about 1 month and 1/2 ago. I did not make it through whole challenge. About a week in phase II one evening I felt funny pressure in stomach, chest and lightheadness. My husband took me to ER diagnosis Dehydration. The next day It ALL BROKE LOSE. My stomach woke me up doing crazy things churning and Burning. I tried different acid blockers and it did not help much. I went to GI specialist (I am in complete misery) and he put me on Nexium and I had an endoscopy done they go down your esophagus and look in stomach. My stomach is inflammed. He took 2 biopsies and I will get results back in 10 days. Here is the kicker all my blood work and test have came back normal. I am miserable and something is wrong. I was burning so bad I ended up going to ER another time. I have done a little research online and have noticed other people who have taken Advocare with the same symptoms as me and their bloodwork is normal. I found a girl I am in the process of trying to contact she had a reaction. Her symptoms sound exactly like mine. She sold Advocare and took it and it hit her out of the blue as well. Please stop taking it.

Smith8577,
Hello, I so wish I could speak with you. I know this post is old, however I am experiencing a lot of what you have experienced and my problems also started after taking Advocare. I am in complete misery. I need to talk with you. I hope you are doing better. I am currently seeing a GI specialist and hoping to find some improvement. I have difficulty sleeping and I am taking Nexium 40mg (high dose) I was on Dexilant 60mg for a week the burning was so bad, and I was on Carafate but stopped that medication. I also had gastritis and had an endoscopy done. I also have bloating it is so bad and uncomfortable. I also have the pressure in stomach so bad. I have the right upper quad pressure. Please if you get on here respond. I would love to hear how you are now and if the doctors were able to help or if you tried a diet that helped. Did the bloating ever get better? Drop me a note. I a still feeling terrible. I also have vibrations in my legs sometimes abdomen and arms that comes and goes.

Hi christie33, Smith8577, and dannielle89

I cannot believe my eyes in reading this. After 13 days into the Advocare 24 day challenge, I could hardly catch my breathe and the tightness in my chest was unbearable. I went to my allergist because I have bad asthma and I assumed that is what it was. Not only did she disagree, but her partner in her practice disagreed as well. Blood work, chest x ray, and blood clot test was normal. They sent me home with a breathing treatment and to no relief, it did not work.

I am still experiencing such bad breathing symptoms that it is hard to catch my breath at times. Any help in your findings is helpful as I am still trying to figure out what was wrong.

How do I report this? Who would I report it to? Any ideas?

Thanks for sharing your story.

Hi falkc,
I am sorry to hear about your reaction. I believe it is definitely from the Advocare. I have not called and reported anything to Advocare because I do not think it will do any good. I am still sick now as well. I am no doctor, however, I have experienced the same similar symptoms and more. Is it possible your stomach is bloating that is causing the pressure/shortness of breath? My shortness of breath is a little better since my stomach has stop bloating so bad, however it still does bloat .I am having a Nuclear Medicine test soon to look at my stomach. My PCP dr. told me I could have reflux and not have heartburn. I had shortness of breath, tightness as well. Reflux can cause shortness of breath, however, I have not been officially diagnosed. I am undergoing more test and doing my best to tweak my diet. I have gastritis and it was very bad at first it is under control right now. I do think you will get better over time. I contacted one woman who had a reaction years ago. She told me it took her 1 1/2 - 2 years to get back to normal she also was taking Advocare she was also diagnosed with gastrits and the Dr. told her she had the colon of an 80 year old woman. I know this is not proof, however, we do not need science to tell us for example, if chocolate milk upsets your stomach or not. If you drink chocolate milk and get an upset stomach when you drink it you know its the chocolate milk. We were all taking Advocare and we had a reaction. There are forums popping up all over the internet with people having reactions. Here is an awesome sight about the truth about Advocare www.drczys.com he is a chiropractor that blogs about it because so many of his patients ask about it. I feel it is unbiased review of Advocare. I found it myself as I am so sick and searching to find relief. Another man Edward who is a chiropractor found some chilling facts about Advocare. Go to www.drczys.com and click on Vitamins/supplements and then look to the links on the right and click on The truth about Advocare. I sure hope you get well soon, and please keep me updated on your progress. I feel you should definitely share what happened to you with friends and locally so they know. If you contact Advocare to report your problem please let me know how it goes. I found a dietician online that helped me and she told me to report it to Advocare and share on social media. I did not report it to Advocare, however, I think my whole community knows now. I talked to the girl who sold me the Advocare and she blamed me..... so frustrating. She did say "sorry". She has no clue how dangerous Advocare is who know when a person will have a reaction.
