I have been dealing with multiple Esophaegeal Dysphagia Issues for many years. I have had 3 surgeries (all in the late 1980's), including placement of a feeding tube in my abdomen. After placement, then surgery, the tube was removed, and I did OK for over 10 years, but during the last couple of years it started sneaking up on me again. I now am down to 93 pounds (from a high of 145lbs). I'm scheduled for an endoscopy on next week, and I'm pretty sure I will need another abdominal feeding tube. My question is this: Does anyone know if the placement procedure has improved over the years? Do they admit you to the hospital or is it an outpatient procedure? Thank you.
