Misdiagnosis? of IBS w/Constipation due to Pain Meds
jodaycraf posted:
I have been in pain since April of this year (2014). I know I have IBS/used to be diarrhea, and Barrett's Esophagus, and in the past has Esophagitis. This is unlike the prior issues. Went to the GI doc in May, he said add daily fiber pills, drink more water, take Ducolax. I did all those things and had some relief, and severe constipation resolved, with just occasional constipation. Flash forward to today, 5 months later...after blood work and an upper endoscopy, which was fine, I continue with the pain. I was given Amitiza (believe it caused pain, rather than relieved it). Contacted doc, and yesterday they gave me Relistor (injejctible). Used it last night and within 5 minutes had severe pain 9-10 on pain scale, that lasted for 7 hours. In pain today also, and they doctor after I called said t stay on the Relistor. Help!! I don't believe the pain is being caused by IBC-C as they think, but they can't get off this one area, and look further. Very frustrated, and any helpful suggestions are welcomed.
