I have had colonscopy and endoscopy - all negative - but have diarrhea everytime I eat. Multiple episodes - for most of my life. IBS has never been mentioned. How is it diagnosed? Help!

IBS is usually the 'catchall' diagnosis when all of the 'standard' tests don't produce any 'results'. There's a number of people who have been 'diagnosed' with IBS when they really have something else.

I've had blood tests, stool tests, colonoscopy, ultrasound, endoscopy and by now, I know what I don't have.

I think that there are other conditions/causes of diarrhea that hasn't quite been discovered, and maybe we fall into that category.

If you haven't done so, start keeping a journal--write down what/when you eat and what the /results/ are....after awhile, you should see a pattern and can figure out foods that will trigger it.

For me, when I eliminated dairy, I got a lot better. Not 100% better, but there was a significant difference. I miss icecream and cheesecake so much, but don't want to be sick all the time anymore.

Keep being persistant and I'm sure that others will give their ideas and such too.

I have the same problem. I also have had the colonscopy and endoscopy. So the doctor put me in that "catchall" IBS which I don't think is the answer. I've kept food journals and cannot find what sets it off.

Suzanner73061--I would look for another doctor if your current doctor has labeled you with IBS and sent you on your merry way!

I had Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) real bad.

And, I am LACTOSE Intolerable. I have LUPUS.

NOW! no more problems....because of this....I take 1 (one) capsule in
the morning by itself on an empty stomach with only a small amount of water and NO FOOD (that is very important). Then you must let it dissolve and take effect for 30 minutes or more.
ok? By itself, empty stomach, 1/3 glass of water, no food !!, 30 minutes or more. No food with this. Let it dissolve and get your stomach all set-up. NO FOOD.

You'll find these at any Walgreen's on the shelf at the back of the store. This replaces taking tablets with every bite, and no powders.
1 capsule in the morning and you're all set for the day. When you start this at the first 2 days, take 2 capsules on those first 2 days to "teach" your system what's going to be happening. Then only 1 a day thereafter. This is terrific. It's the answer to your problems.

ok? By itself, empty stomach, 1/3 glass of water, no food !!, 30 minutes or more. Again, and very important, no food with this. Let it dissolve and get your stomach all set-up. NO FOOD.
