i had my u.e. today and it pretty much was a big fat nothing! he doesn't think i have the h.pylori bacteria, no ulcers. He saw irritation in my stomach (gee you think? im always nauseated!) and he saw a tiny hiatal hernia that he said is so small it isnt worth any merit.

He gave me some medication to control acid reflux and wants me to try that for a week. If that doesn't help control the nausea, then we move on to gallbladder testing...

I guess its good that we ruled things out, I just wish I felt closer to getting some answers....

uggh!

Well Brandi... I know what you mean... but
first things first... we gotta celebrate that so far there is nothing there... so I know is annoying not knowing but at least
it is nothing serious right know.
You know it might be gallbladder stones, I had that and suffered with pain for 2 years because y doc kept telling my pain was only acid reflux and was not even willing to do a test. The thruth is oral contraception consumption can cause gallbladder stones (dont know if you take them or not) but the "good news" is that a laparoscopy can take care of that....

Anyways... lets celebrate that he is being proactive and lets hope the acid reflux medicine works.... can imagine been nauseous 24/7.... hang on in there hun and thanks for sharing!!!

Brandy, Angie is right..be happy your doc is taking you serious. It's a good thing that they ruled out Chron's and other issues that you truly don't want to deal with. They did that to me, and put me on anti-acids, and I was like I do NOT have any sort of heartburn, how can I when I can't eat????

But it's the process of elimination thing...again the doctor dance begins....we're here for ya love!!!!!

i agree that we should celebrate your diagnosis or lack there of.

but speaking as someone with severe acid reflux it can make you feel very sick and cause what is called sour stomach from the overproduction of acid. if you do have acid reflux you do not necessarily have to eat anything for it to flare up. i have had a flare when all i had was water and it sucks. they found mine because of my constant nauseau and vomiting and it turned out i had developed bleeding ulcers on my esophogus from all the acid.

what did he RX you? i take protonix and it is a life saver as long as i remember to take it every day and i mean every day.

make sure of course you stay away from citrus stuff take vitamin c pills instead of eating alot of fruit.. multivitamins will be your freing anything acidic of course tomatoes and things related to that and anything spicy it is a bland life but if you have it your stomah will thank you.

also i do not know if you drink but alcohol of anysort is not your freind anymore expect a flare if you drink. i lose my voice anytime i drink from my flares but mine is pretty bad.

i am glad it is nothing serious.. well life threatning so far but let me know if you have any other questions and give it a good try for a week.

Brandi-
He gave me samples of Dexilant which I believe is the sister medicine to kapidex. I have my follow up on Tuesday and I'll continue to take this and see if it helps. hasn't helped much today, but, i also know itll take a good week. I've already cut out a lot of acidic foods, especially red tomatoy sauces which breaks my heart cause i love them! lol. but they kill my bladder. they irritate the interstitial cystistis big time. so ill keep yall updated. thanks for the concerned words!
