My son is about to start using Onfi. Has anyone had any experience with this drug for controlling seizures. Were these experiences positive and did the quality of life improve?

Hello ej,

At the Top of this page is a Blue Tab, Drug &Supplements. Please use this to learn more about this Drug. I noted there are no user Reviews at this time. But, it really doesn't matter. WHY? Because, each med affects each individual differently or the same depending on the persons' metabolism.

Side effects are what we watch for. Not necessarily, what will be. So, start keeping a journal. More Info under Tips. Give your sons' Onfi at least 4-6 weeks, unless there is an increase in seizures or side effects do not diminish/disappear. Be sure he eats Well-Balanced meals while adjusting to this med. It Will decrease the likelihood of side effects & helps the medication work more productively.

When all is said & done in 6 weeks, Will you be our First Reviewer of this Drug? Good or Bad. I'm sure others' would appreciate knowing. Please keep us updated on your sons' progress. Love & Hugs to you & yours.

How old is your son? How long has he had seizures? Has he tried or considered other medications/treatments?

Hope both of you are having a good day. HUGS!

Thank you for this information. The Neuro did say that it was a new seizure med and that it had positive results. I spoke to a person near home who said that one of her clients had positive results from taking the med. Though there was some weight gain. If the seizures are controlled I'll take the weight gain. We are taking the introduction very slow. Increasing the dosage every few days until we reach the desired level. There has been no information about blood test for levels as we were doing with the dilantin and other meds. This is a scary time as my son is delayed development and non verbal so everything is by observation. We put our trust in a higher power. Lets hope it all works out. Ed
