Hello, I am 53 and have had Epilepsy for 39 years. I started out on Dilantin and Phenobarbotal. Have still been on dilantin only for many years. I have been seizure free for 20+ years. My last dilantin level test was low and my doctor put me on 50 mg more of dilantin. Would anyone know why the level would drop. Since being on the additional dosage my fatigue and tremors have worsen. I also have daily headaches which I have had for some time. Some of the headache pain has gotten lighter...due to the dilantin level change????? Would appreciate any advise. Thanks

Hello Dawn,

Dilantin may be affecting your Kidneys, thus that dosage of Dilantin is no longer being Processed properly in your system. How long have you been on your new dose? Are you keeping a Journal?

Note your Diet. It can help w/ the side effects you are experiencing. Ask your DR to run more blood tests to determine if all your Vitamin/supplements are 'normal' too. If you use our Search Tool, for Our Comunity, you will find discussions/ links related to 'headaches & Ep'.
