Yes, I've done that! Been a Long Time.
Now, I mainly lose just a few seconds/minutes. Which is why I Quit driving a few yrs ago. Didn't need a DR to tell me so.
Worst episode: Over 30 yrs ago, I awoke on a bathroom floor. No clue how long I had been there or What. I had hurt myself on tub or sink pipes & needed stitches.
Last Known 'episode' In my living room. Wandered around for 3-4 min w/out knowing it. Until I looked at the Comp Clock & saw it was later than when I had sit down Or thought I had sat down.
Hang in there Jason! BTW: How old is your Son?
Is he a Big Support for you?

One episode will always tell me that I have a guardian angel.
This day I was riding one BART(BAY AREA RAPID TRANSIT), our commuter train. I only remember approaching the next station. The next thing I recall is being at my sister's friend job, 1.5 -2 miles away. I have no memory of leaving the train, getting out my ticket, or walking through the turnstyle.
To get to my end point, I had to walk through a parking lot, cross a busy street, walk another parking lot to the other side of a mall area before I got to my end location.
When I came to my sister's friend was talking to me. She says she noticed me when I walked in. She tells me that I had "that look" she had seen me have when I would having a seizue.
Wow, that had to be about 10 minutes lost.
Somehow whenever I had a seizure away from home, I always went to a place that was familiar to me. Never recalling how I got there, I simply ended up there.
I know what you mean by "freaky", Jason.
Hang in there, Jason. Hugs to your son.

I am sure you do your best raising him. Just be sure he is Enjoying being a Teen. Taking 'breaks' from Dad.
I know how my son was at that age. He witnessed his 1st seizure since 1st grade. Scared the BeJesus out of him when Dad called him in to Watch & Learn! But, he continues to treat me 'norm' & ain't afraid of being 'left alone' w/ me.
HUGS to Both our Boys.
BTW: My son will be 24 on Halloween.
Suggestion: Maybe, supply him w/ some books, so that he can be a Good Advocate for You & EP Too.
Search this community & Resources for some Links.
Maybe some you would enjoy, also.
I always recommend cheking the Local Library, first.
Talk w/ the Research Librarian about Titles/Authors you are interested in. Treating Epilepsy Naturally by Patricia Murphy has been a #1 Recommended book for over 20 yrs.
How are you feeling today? Any soreness or extra tiredness from yesterday?

Dealing w/ your Disorder & his has got to be a Challenge & then some. But, I have noted all the new Research that has come forward on Autism w/in the past 10 yrs. Seems there is Hope for Him, too.
HMM> Didn't that article on Coconut Oil mention Autism, too? BTW: Since you May still be experiencing seizures, have you considered Trying the Coconut Oil? You could do so & still remain on meds. Just be a booster like the B Complex. Or how about one of the Diets for EP?

How are you and your son doing tonite? He sounds like a wonderful kid. Alert as to what is necessary. Doesn't seem to panic, just responds to the situation.
Nine months is a long time to go w/o having a seizue. One out of the blue will certainly tire the mind and body. I don't think it will break your spirit. Start counting the days w/o again. Let's hope another 9 months, or longer, is heading your way.
Kids are strong and smart. Sounds like your son will take on whatever challenges are placed before him.
Keep looking after each other. You have a guardian angle also, your son. Hugs to both of you.
Are you in the Vegas area? Wishful thinking.
angie
My son & are doing quite well. No it has not broken my spirit. If anything it has made me more aware of keeping tabs on my sleep patterns. It has not been what it should be but is getting better. You are correct my son will take on whatever is thrown his way head on. With Experience & knowledge he doesn't have to learn the hard way like I did. No I am not in the Vegas area I live in eastern Pennsylvania.
Jason
I understand about being more aware of situations.
In fact, I would say, that in a strange/unexpected way, my ep has made me a stronger person. Unfortunately, many people(including some family) feel that my strength/determination is due to my having something to prove. Stupid thoughts!!!
I simply wanted to go out and "find me". My spirit has always been "give it a try and see". I have to correct my mom several times when she tells others that "my daughter is epileptic."
"Mom, I HAVE EPILEPSY!!!!"
I'm simply rambling right now, Jason.
Hugs to your son. Happy Father's Day to you.

THe rest of the time it was brining me into the ER.
I had the one one time where I was hainging off teh toilet, then was trying toge t to the paper and was trying to get it in the front of me when it was on the wall, then I fell down and hit my head on the cupboards, then could not get into our bed and woke up face down on the floor at the foot of the bed. Then the next time I had one I went to bathroom and was fine then coming back the sz started and I had no control over my legs and feet adn was wandering like some drunk, then fell down on my dog's bed abd sine ither thing that was there and soft. THe medics and I had the bottom locked but not the top lock which is a dead bolt so I had to cralw to the door and slide my keys under the screen door so the could get in and help me.
the nthere is my friend who has Sarcoidousis. SHe had an attack, puked had a sz, sweating from head to toe, talked on the phone with ner daughter kept over night for obsevation.
All of that caost her 5 hrs of her life.
She remembers nothing about it.

That is all good ramble all you would like. Thank You for the Fathers Day Wish. It seems people like to as they say sugar coat it or in other cases make it taste really sour. My strength since my accident has greatly increased due to adversity & challenges being greater.
