first seizure - so scared

Last Friday I had a seizure at my local grocery store. It was horrific. I hit my head, and it was very messy. It has been eight days, and I am still suffering from a concussion. I'm feeling pretty lost and alone, my friends are avoiding me, and my husband has been very mean and unsupportive.
I went to a different grocery store a couple of days ago, and I'll just say it didn't go well. Even just a commercial for the store I was at when I had the seziure makes my gut churn. I am afraid this may be used against me. I don't trust my own body, or myself now. I always thought I would know if something was wrong. I didn't this time. I was smiling and happy just before I went down. It is so strange - I remember everything except of course when I was unconsicous. I am afraid to drive, even though my M.D. gave the ok to do so.
When can I stop feeling scared and vulnerable? I really need someone who can relate. It seems that when I tell my friends and family these things they don't know what to say.

First:You have seen your MD & his advice to continue Driving is Wrong! Get a Neuro Referral ASAP! If your Insurance doesn't require a referral from your MD, then seek a Neuro & make an appt Monday! Call your MD's office & Demand a Ref if needed. Please, if for no other reason than to have tests run to determine the fall did not injure your brain! Under Resources: We have Dr Questions. You can search for DRS near you on this site. Or you can visit epilepsytalk.com for a list of Drs/specialists recommended by others w/ Epilepsy, if needed. Keep in mind: One seizure does Not Mean you have Epilepsy. 2 or more are considered Epilepsy or Seizure Disorder. It could be weeks, months even yrs B4 another episode. Or it may never happen again. Again: Time will Tell.
Fact: everyone experiences at least 1 seizure in their lifetime. Fact: Recovery from a concussion & seizure activity takes Time! You should be resting & get adequate Sleep every nite. 8-10 Hrs! Fact: We don't All have Warnings when it comes to Seizure activity. Did Witnesses describe your incident to you &/or call EMT's? Did anyone Time the Seizure?
Fact: Epilepsy/seizure activity Scare those around us! Why? Because they are Uneducated! It is unfortunate that your Hubby is being mean & unsupportive, too!
I Hope it is just due to the fact that he wasn't there & is Just as Uneducated. No, people who no nothing, don't know what to say. Some can't even tell you Proper Seizure First Aid. They have probably never even witnessed a seizure, so how can they know what to say? Or how to be supportive? Keep talking w/ us. Keep us Posted. Please. And for now, Start a Daily Journal. Candi has pretty much covered what I would tell you. Please don't drive cause seizures are unpredictable. Do get a nuerologist quickly.
You have nothing to be embarrassed about. I was too hardheaded to be scared. Still am, lol.
Like you, my first seizure came out of nowhere. Scared my mother and everyone else. I remained cool cause as I said before, I'm simply stubborn/hardheaded.
I think some of the fear that you are experiencing will pass once you get some answers and find more support. There is nothing wrong with being afraid cause such discomfort encourages you to look for answers. You do have us.
