Aloha,

Just want to wish every mom on here a very happy mother's day from Hawaii.

I am coming home late tonight to be home for tomorrow's appt at the headache specialist's clinic in Scottsdale at 10 20 AZ time. It is 3 hrs later than HI.

Then on the 14th I am still in town to see my orthopedic doc in sun City west to see if an ankle revision is needed for me to be able to walk again.

Right now I can not on the right foot due to a sz that caused it to roll and took 2 steps on it while it was rolled over. 4 days later when I was putting m,y left leg into a pair of pants it rolled again and then 2 days ago I walked off the edge of the sidewalk into the bark by our pool and rolled it again off the walkway.

The left ankle does not need any pt, so that was good news. The therapist said that he was pleased with the strength and solidity of the ankle and all I need to do is buy a pair of 4 pound ankle weights and hook them to my ankle and do some of their strength and trainging excerses a couple times a week just to keep the motion there.

I had the CT scan done on my right wrist here in HI and now have to hand carry it with me to my wrist PA and doc to see what they say about it but whatever is werong with it is both on the top and underside. I used to be able to wear my medicalert bracelet with it being loose on my right wrist and now it doesn't even come together. SO there is something drastically going on.

One night my wrist just started to swell up out of nowhere and I had to take my bracelet off because it was swelling into it and I have not been able to wear it since then.

I will keep you posted on everything and let you all know something by the end of the week for the ankle. The headache appt is for MIgraines and BTX f/u from 2 mths ago. I hope I can get one more session in before I go all the way to MI and NC and be headache free. the worst 2 days are the day of with the forehead and the day after with the entire head and especially thee forehead.

the humidity will kick up headaches and I can not stand having any kind of illness at mhy grandma;'s home in NC, because she just doesn't get it with the epilepsy and the headaches together my mom says she is WAY off base and needs to do some research before she opens her mouth about stuff but she refuses to do anything and makes hurtful comments about my szs without trying because she doesnpt understand and I do not know what I can do to make it easier for her to understand it. I have checked out books froom her library that are specific only to epilepsy and she will not let me have any medical books out but now I have a lap top that my mom bought me after some so-called friends of mine in HI usded my big computer when I was on vacation last year and did not turn it off right and left it on and ran the battery down on it and ruined it. I can get on line and show her stuff from epilepsy.com

so there is a lot of stuff happeneing right now that I have to deal with.

my mom and I are trekking across the country and stahying with family and friends rather than all motels along the way then staying with her sister in MI and her mom in NC.

I want everyone on here to take care of yourselves and try to be sz free.

I will get back on here Friday to let everyone know what the ankle doc said about a possible revision on the R ankle.

Nancy---sorry this is so long.

Hi Candi,

I would love to educate my Grandma anytime of the year, not just Nov.

Iam going to see her in June and do not know how. She is so hard-headed about things, it is impossible to teach her ANYTHING!

I am going to have my laptop with me this time so I am going to try again, but I doubt that will do any good. Meaning I will have access to the internet. I can show her stuff from epilepsy.com where the best stuff is. I use that site for education all the time.

I mean, she is just ridiculous. She knows everything. I went to see me Migraine doc today in Scottsdale and when I got home with my mom, she called to complain about something, she asked if they used a hatband on my head to treat my headaches and that is the last thing I want to use. It would just make it worse. I get Botox shots for it. 31 shots all together. My mom TRIED to tell her that they were tied to the epilepsy but again she did not listen. She just doesn't get it. Not sinking in or something.

How does one deal with someone like this who does not understand that after a sz you are totally exhausted have a headache confused, out of it, lost ttime, etc. everything that occurs during and after a partial sz.

I need to educate her and soon.

She has know I have had it for 12 yrs now.

I got it thru my grandpa's thick skull before he died.

I need sugestions.

I leave on the 15th of June and will be at her house last, to return on june 30th.

Nancy
