Welcome to the new WebMD exchange. I am excited about all the new options and know that this will provide a far nicer user-friendly format for your questions and input. I have been working the Men?s Heath Message Board and Male Fertility Message Board for more than 6 years. During this time I have answered many thousands of questions, often variations on the same theme. The plan is to give you quick access to these more common questions so you wont have to wait for feedback- you can go and read what we said about same problem that others have asked about. This exchange should answer many questions and provide a foundation of accurate and cutting edge information for you to use when talking to your doctor. These discussions are not a replacement for seeing your doctor face to face. This is a necessary and critical part of any health care evaluation and treatment.

I look forward to your questions. Let us know what is most important to you. Here are some commonly asked topics we will address. Help to direct us. This is your exchange.

Blood in the semen (hematospermia)
Blood in the urine (hematuria)
ED ? causes, treatments
Prostatitis
Painful testicle
Mass in or along testicle
Varicocele
Hydrocele
Spermatocele
Infertility
Penile curvature
Kidney stones
Vasectomy
Vasectomy reversal (my favorite)
Sperm retrieval for IVF
Penile size concerns/ treatments
Bladder cancer
Prostate cancer
Kidney cancer

Thank you. It is nice to be on this new exchange. The format will take some getting used to but I think over the long haul it will be better.

There is a post on the internet that I am trying to tie down:
It is about an un-named prescription drug that "..actually programs deadly cancer cells to die...instead of multiply. It also is effective in treating diabetes and arthritis.

All I have to do is buy a $50 book and they will tell me what the prescription drug is. Can you tell me?

I am new to the world of ED and have only tried Viagra once. It worked okay, not great. I've heard that it is more effective after using it six times. Is this true? Also, I would like to know if any of the herbal enhancement products for ED really work.

I would like to see more information about delayed, or retarded ejaculation in men. And about men who lose their erection in the vagina and are not able to ejaculate, unless there is manual stimulation. I read that this is not an uncommon problem, but where is the information? I would also like to see more current information about the effects of circumcision in men, especially as they get older. No one seems to want to acknowledge these problems.

I would like to know if a man suffers from ED, can he feel anything when oral sex is performed on him?

am 24 yrs old and about a year ago i was unable to maintain an erection. I wouldn't be able to maintain an erection long enough to engage in sex with my girlfriend. I started taking saw palmetto and i started to be able to maintain an erection. Would i be experiencing ED?

WD2011 replied to mare1954's response:
mare, I too am extremely interested in this phenomenon. I had my prostate removed (cancer) four years ago. I doubt circumcision (not intact) is related--truly, I never considered that, thanks I think

Oral stimulation works for me, but vaginal doesn't provide sufficient stimulation--though rear entry does make that better.

Are you conducting a survey? Work in a healing/sexological area where you notice this more?

I have heard it said that porn use has had an impact in these types of manifestations. How can I help you with your interest in this area?

This man can report. Yeah! But my issue has been erectile capability post surgery--not lack of feeling in the penis. Would you care to elaborate? Provide some more info, like age, physical condition, Rx's taken, etc.?

I can address your point about porn. I had cancer surgery and use Lavitra. I have only be able to achieve a "pre-surgery" full erection while watching porn. I know it sounds weird, but it's true in my case anyway.

I have a thyroid condition. I take synthroid for my condition. This last year i have suffered from ED. Are these two tied together?

I am currently taking Diovan HCT 160/25mg in combination with toprol XL 100mg for high BP. Though infrequent I've noticed that decreased sexual function is a side effect of the toprol. My question(s) are: is there an alternative to the porol and/or what ED drug is safe for me if the toprol is managing my BP to my doctor's satisfaction? I should also note that I was a heavy drinker and in my first year of sobriety. If more info is needed please don't hesitate to contact me. Thanks.

Hi Glenn and welcome to WebMD,

To you and anyone else posting new questions here... this discussion began over two years ago and I really encourage you to start your own discussions on your topic so others can more easily find and respond to your questions.

To do that, hold your cursor over the orange Post Now button on the upper right and choose 'Discussion' from the drop down menu which appears. Fill in the subject line and body of the message (you can ignore the poll part if you want) and Submit.
